Job Title: Manager, Artist Development – Black Music
A little bit about our team:
Artist Development works closely with every department to put together artists' day to day activities and travel arrangements, ensuring the company and management are all in agreement on the artist's status and the work that is being done. We foster a close working relationship with agents and promoters to help find new touring and event opportunities for our artists.

This position will allow you to become fully engaged with our artists in helping them learn how to build their shows and performances. You will be able to watch our artists grow and develop into the true star we see in many of them through touring and promotional development. You will have the opportunity to help bring and develop new tour ideas among some of our 'baby' artists as well, to help build and grow them into new stars. Nothing is more exciting than being part of the development of an artist who has never performed before and knowing that you helped nourish their development into a true performer that everyone loves.
Here you'll get to:
• Work with the Black Music Artist Development Vice President to develop and execute Artist Development/Tour and Promo Tour Marketing strategy and plans as needed for selected artist roster.
• Oversee touring and promotional tour appearance, activity and travel schedules for artists. Distribute daily updates and information to all relevant internal and external personnel.
• Work with department heads and respective departments to determine and coordinate tour, promo tour and all promotional activity for an artist on the road, including local and national radio/promotion, press, retail, video promo, new media and lifestyle marketing activity.
• Work with department head to manage all day to day details of approved promo tour/activity budgets.
• Develop and maintain key relationships with management, business management, tour managers, artist agents and national and local promoters
• Travel to select conferences, artist events and activities, generally 3-7 days per quarter.
• Open Artist PO's and process invoices for related artist projects
• Create/manage & execute all Artist Concur Reports & Expenses in timely manor for Departmental approval and financial payout.
About you:
• At least 3 years of experience in music industry - preferably in progressive roles in a promotion department/tour marketing/touring related role or environment.
• Experience managing project budgets of at least $10k.
• Experience dealing with artist managers, tour management, agents, local promoters, and label staff.
• ''On the road'' experience with artists is desirable.
• Event planning or travel planning experience is desirable.

• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Demonstrated interpersonal/relationship building skills
• Demonstrated ability to multitask/work under pressure/juggle conflicting priorities and deadlines
• Demonstrated in depth understanding of the music business and touring business.
• Budgeting skills.
• Available to work after hours and on weekends when an artist is traveling.
