Job Title: Coordinator, Corporate Communications
A little bit about our team:
Warner Music Group's Corporate Communications and Marketing team is responsible for elevating the company's internal and external brand and reputation through dynamic storytelling and activations. We proactively pitch and place stories and feature pieces, manage press inquiries, write internal and external announcements, prepare executive remarks, manage the company's social media accounts, host internal and external events, create advertising, and much more. We are dedicated to amplifying and articulating the great work the company has accomplished. And of course, we share a passion for the artists, songwriters, and labels we support.
We seek a Coordinator to support the department's external & internal communications activities. The ideal candidate will have an interest in communications and prior experience in public relations, as well as a passion for storytelling. Strong writing skills with a focus on grammar, punctuation, and style guides, and exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills are required. This candidate should also have a strong pulse on the entertainment industry and pop-culture and the ability to work collaboratively.
Here you'll get to:
• Conduct daily press monitoring, keeping the team and key stakeholders aware of breaking and trending news stories.
• Compile media coverage recaps to share with key stakeholders.
• Assist with drafting and proof-reading communications (press releases, pitches, executive bios, internal memos & presentations, talking points, etc.)
• Be responsible for the timely distribution of both internal and external communications.
• Help brainstorm story ideas and pitches for trade music and consumer media.
• Maintain and update media lists.
• Maintain a calendar of relevant events (speaking engagements, industry awards/events, editorial calendars, etc.)
• Conduct research on topics as needed.
• Schedule meetings and other administrative duties as needed
About you:
• 1+ years of relevant experience within communications and public/media relations (including internships).
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
• Excellent oral, written, and visual communications skills, including superior editing and proofreading abilities.
• Demonstrate a high pace of activity and deep curiosity about the music industry.
• A high level of flexibility and the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and time zones.
We'd love it if you also had:
• Excellent communication/interpersonal/conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to help create an inventive and collaborative atmosphere within the team where new ideas are encouraged, and best practices are shared.
