About the Show:

The Animation Studio team is looking for a writer for season seven of Gridiron Heights. Gridiron Heights is a scripted comedic animated series featuring caricature versions of the players, coaches, and other personalities of the NFL. Episodes are 1-2 minutes long and distributed on the BR app as well as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. Writers of the series are well versed in football, the internet, pop culture, and comedy.

In the fictional town of Gridiron Heights, all players, coaches, and owners attempt to coexist despite team rivalries, personal drama, and the arcane rules of the commissioner. Everything from the dreaded Thursday Night Football to how weird Patrick Mahomes talks is touched upon in our hyper-topical cartoon. The goings-on of the football world are filtered through town meetings, movie spoofs, and various in-town locations.

After that, please complete the sections below.

Requirements

You can write your submission in whatever program you prefer, but please submit it as a PDF. It is very important that your name, email, phone number - any identifying information - is listed on the cover page (part 1) ONLY. This is because we will be removing the cover pages and reading all submissions blind.

Contents

1. Please include your resume and a brief cover letter, your contact info, as well as links to anything you've worked on that you're proud of and would like to share. Keep this on a separate page as it will not be read along with your writing samples.

2. Write 3 short pitches for potential Gridiron Heights episodes. These can be written out in paragraph form or with bullet points, whatever is best to get your point across.

3. Write one 2-3 page script for Gridiron Heights. Format your script however you are comfortable, just make sure it is internally consistent and easy to understand. It should be written to be a very fast one minute long cartoon.

4. Submit 1 piece of writing you have done previously. It can be a sketch, short story, listicle, etc. Anything that shows off your personal sense of humor.
