The Job

The HBO Max AVOD Technical Product Manager – Video Ads will be responsible for deploying and maintaining video ad delivery solutions into the HBO Max AVOD product, a multi-platform direct-to-consumer video streaming service. This will allow WarnerMedia to provide unique advertising opportunities that reach premium audiences viewing world-class HBO Max Original and WarnerMedia content. As part of the HBO Max Digital Ads Platform team the Technical Product Manager will work with HBO, WarnerMedia Technology & Operations, Ad Sales, and various technology vendors to provide video advertising solutions that provide for great viewer experiences while meeting the requirements of advertising customers, Ad Sales, and the HBO Max product team. This role will gather requirements, generate solutions, document functionality, troubleshoot issues and train users. We are seeking an individual with a strong video ad serving background and exceptional communication skills to support the technical platforms that power our business.

The Day-to-Day
• Deploy, manage, and maintain solutions that allow for video advertising into HBO Max AVOD
• Work with HBO, Ad Sales, and engineering/development teams to define functional requirements and translate them into actionable technical documentation for internal and external developers
• Troubleshoot and resolve video ad serving issues across the ad technology platform
• Analyze video ad serving data and provide insights to various partners
• Create and maintain product feature documentation and training materials for associates
• Stay abreast of competitive landscape
• Train users on product capabilities and process improvements in our ad serving and stream stitching systems
• Prioritize feature requests and provide direction to internal and external development teams
• Facilitate requirements gathering meetings, roadmap planning sessions, and status updates with various constituents

The Essentials

Minimum work experience:
• 5+ years product management experience in ad technology or a related industry
• Experience with dynamic video ad insertion using FreeWheel MRM and/or Google Ad Manager
• Experience with digital video player technology that supports playout of content and ads
• Experience with stream stitching technologies integrated with player and ad serving platforms
• Specific experience with third-party vendor platforms and development/delivery of large-scale custom applications

Educational requirement: BS/MS in Computer Science or MIS

Competency Assessment:
• Full software development life cycle experience in one or more IT disciplines
• Knowledge of ad serving technologies across various digital platforms
• Experience managing third party technology vendors providing large-scale custom applications
• Proven ability to develop and manage a roadmap and write user stories
• Prior experience in media business
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
• Ability to partner with various teams (non-technical to technical)
• Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions
• Meeting facilitation and presentation skills
