The Job
Monolith Productions, a leading video game developer is looking for a Systems Engineer to join their IT Team. This position will work closely with both infrastructure / desktop IT teams and the industry leading game development disciplines to provide system design, performance analysis and engineering of innovative solutions for various cross discipline systems and processes. In addition, this position will lead mission critical projects, software and hardware installation and configuration, problem resolution and performance tuning, and serve as a mentor to junior network game development support team members. The Systems Engineer will also represent our studio in various enterprise efforts as directed by the IT Manager

The Daily
• Provides day-to-day support for all console game development requests, and production system environments running in all hosting platforms
• Leads the engineering and development of innovative technologies and best practices for internal and external systems in support of strategic plans, roadmap, and system and game development lifecycle management. Implements complex and comprehensive solutions/projects related to performance, availability of systems and
• Provides maintenance, management, and support of current On-Prem and Cloud infrastructure. Manages vendor relationship and performance pertaining to engineering, design, technology roadmap and system optimization
• Participates in projects requested by game development teams or internally to facilitate improvements to production processes and/or infrastructure.
• Provides leadership and execution of initiatives related to capacity and planning, high availability and overall hosting security standards

The Essentials
• Minimum 4 years relevant IT system engineering and design experience, including advanced design/administration of complex multi-user information systems.
• Minimum associates degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Knowledge of a wide variety of Microsoft products including but not limited to: Active Directory, Windows Server 2012-2019, SQL, SCCM, PowerShell, Automations, Exchange, Office 365
• An in-depth knowledge of any of the following will be considered an asset: IP routing and switching (Cisco/HP/H3C based products),Aruba Wi-Fi, Palo Alto Firewalls, VMWare, AWS, NetApp Storage, SolarWinds.
• Strong knowledge of JIRA, Confluence.
• Strong project management, prioritization, and coordination skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and follow-through.

The Nice to Haves
• Strong scripting skills (e.g. PowerShell, Python)
• Previous game development support is a plus.
