The Job

Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. seeks an experienced Sr. Manager to join the Global Research Insights & Analytics department to support the Motion Picture team.

This position reports to the VP of Motion Picture and Lifecycle Research and the responsibilities will be two-fold: 1) support shaping pre-production research and 2) expanding the retrospective analysis of recently released titles. As such, the role is a ''bookend'' of sorts – handling title research at the starting gate and finish line. The role will require knowledge of how to run and use primary and secondary research as well as leverage customer and brand intelligence available across the Global Research Insights & Analytics group.

The Daily
• Manage strategic research using primary, secondary, and syndicated data sources.
• Provide oversight with the contracted vendors on study logistics such as recruiting, screeners, discussion guide development, questionnaire design and development, weighting, and norms.
• Build story-driven presentations based on qualitative and quantitative data analysis that goes beyond the surface level results from vendors, unearthing fresh findings and incorporate relevant research findings from other business units.
• Be able to synthesize insights across new and previous research to provide succinct recommendations to stakeholders that will aid in managing expectations on future titles, including audience optimization and financial targets.
• Present to key stakeholders for titles, where assigned.
• Manage title-level research as well as larger strategic initiatives such as genre and franchise deep dives.
• Keep up and effectively communicate understanding of consumer behavior and trends in the US and abroad, for both theatrical and streaming consumption.
• Look for new methods, trends, and best practices in research (particularly for the entertainment industry)
• Build relationships with researchers in other business units who may insights relevant to the title/franchise lifecycle (ex., Batman has touchpoints across consumer products, TV, HBO Max, Home Entertainment, etc.)
• There may be macro-related work as a member of the Global Research Insights and Analytics Team (e.g. US and International Brand Tracking Studies) where the Sr. Manager may be asked to play a contributing role.
• The position not only works with the VP, but also has lines to the immediate research team that is led by an EVP with touchpoints to the entire film slate.

The Essentials
• 7+ years related research experience preferred
• BA Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, Sociology, Consumer Insights, Consumer Psychology, Behavioral Marketing, Business Administration or closely related field preferred or equivalent work experience required.
• Primary qualitative and quantitative research project management experience including: vendor selection, methodology structure, questionnaire design and analysis, weighting, data analysis, screeners, discussion guides, etc.
• Experience in the interpretation & analysis of quantitative and qualitative research projects and their respective applications to properly prepare written analysis for presentation.
• The ability to juggle and manage multiple projects under tight project deadlines as the workload is significant.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills and the ability to work cohesively with other internal departments, external divisions, and internal corporate companies.
• May occasionally have to work outside of business hours to meet deadlines, provide timely deliverables and participate in test screenings on evenings/weekends.
• Interested in shaping the future of movies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Adobe Acrobat

The Nice to Haves
• Experience in film, TV, streaming, gaming, digital entertainment.
• An understanding of the entertainment-based research vendor landscape.
• Social media listening research experience.
• Experience working with data warehouses (i.e. SQL, Snowflake, …)
• Proficient with software for running statistical analysis (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R), survey platforms (e.g. SurveyMonkey), and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
• International market research experience
• A self-starter and successful independent contributor
• An entrepreneurial spirit
