The Job

Warner Media seeks a Sr. Data Engineer for the EDS Data Services: Data Operations and Engineering department. We are looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering Team. The person works across multiple functional and technical groups, educates technical and non-technical stakeholders, effectively manage expectations, and help establish department priorities. They must drive project delivery within established timeframes, and scope while delivering business value and simultaneously planning for and managing future requirements. Strong analytical skills and passion for Data is a must.

The Essentials
• Typically requires 6+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills
• Analyze business processes in order to lead the creation of requirements, specifications and systems solution designs in partnership with engineering team members.
• Expert knowledge of relational databases, data warehouses and SQL skills.
• Expert knowledge of data integration, data pipeline and data delivery.
• Code written should be efficient, organized, simple and scalable meeting business requirements.
• Enthusiasm to learn and finding opportunity to enhance and adopt in the daily engineering activities is highly desired.
• JIRA User stories should be delivered end-to-end meeting quality expectations of the team.
• Knowledge of data visualization and business intelligence.

Additional Skills
• Expert in one or modern data replication and data integration tools (for example Informatica, Attunity, AWS DMS, etc.)
• Expert in one or more modern data lake and data warehouse tools (for example Teradata, Redshift, Snowflake, etc.)
• Expert in one or more modern advanced analytics tools (for example Spark, DataBricks, Python, AWS Glue, etc.)
• Experienced in one or more modern advanced business intelligence & visualization tools (for example Business Objects, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
• Experienced in software delivery through continuous integration (for example git, bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.)
• Experienced in one or more automation and scheduling tools (for example orsyp, airflow, etc.)
• Experienced with Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
• Experienced with Excel spreadsheets, modeling, and reporting.
• Prior data engineering experience using enterprise systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of cloud-based environment like AWS is a plus.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel, both in person and on the telephone.
• Must be able to pay close attention to complex detail and understand written and oral instructions.
• Must be able to organize and schedule work effectively.
• Must be able to work well under time constraints.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities, communicating changes in scope and schedule to all parties concerned.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
