The Job
Warner Bros. Distributing Inc. seeks a Sr Analyst, Data Analytics & Reporting for the Sales Planning & Strategies department.
This position will assist in supporting enhancement projects for the following systems within WB Pictures: Domestic Distribution: MACCS, MMS3, TOBI and EIS.
The Daily
• Gains an understanding of Theatrical distribution data in order to manipulate and analyze the data
• Leverages data to generate business insights and solutions, delivers findings in a clear and concise manner
• Retrieves diverse data types from various sources across internal applications (MACCS, MMS, TOBI)
• Compiles complex data sets and consolidates into efficient database warehousing solutions
• Analyzes numerous metrics related to theatrical bookings and revenue including location/media format counts, financial data, demographic data
• Builds dashboards, reports, and tools using Microsoft Excel, Tableau, SAP Business Objects
• Performs system and data testing, reviews reporting with attention to detail, evaluates and validates data accuracy
• Interacts with 3rd party technology support teams to communicate business needs and requests, exchanging feedback and recommendations for data source and reporting solutions
• Supports optimizing processes for projecting, forecasting, and estimating box office numbers
• Facilitates Tableau and Excel training sessions for internal users, creates training documentation
The Essentials
• Bachelor's degree required
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (vlookup, advanced formulas, pivot tables)
• Proficient in Tableau (table manipulation, calculated fields and functions, parameters)
• Strong understanding of relational databases, database architecture, SQL queries, data science fundamentals
• Strong analytical reasoning skills with knowledge of statistical techniques
• Organized, ability to juggle multiple projects with varying priorities at once
• Confident when interacting with a wide range of stakeholders
• Strong eye for detail, critical thinking, and deductive reasoning
• Strong interest in the film industry, tracking movie theatre box office
• Experience in BA techniques such as process models and data flow diagrams is required.
• Distribution experience preferred.
• Experience conducting User Acceptance Testing activities and documenting issues.
