Warner Bros. Games Boston is a Warner Bros. Games development studio focused on creating free-to-play games for mobile platforms. The studio is utilizing its extensive expertise in creating persistent online worlds that foster powerful social gaming communities to develop its hit mobile game, Game of Thrones: Conquest.

WB Games Boston is looking to hire a Software Architect. This technical leadership position will report to the Director of Engineering and will work with a collaborative team of engineers, artists, and design leads to develop high-quality game features for the studio's mobile strategy title. This is an opportunity to join a game studio with an inclusive and positive culture in a rapidly growing industry.

As a high level individual contributor, the Software Architect will work closely with the Director of Engineering to help define and evangelize the technical vision and architectural direction of the game. They will assist project teams at critical points in production and provide technical expertise, problem solving and hands-on systems implementation.

The Daily
• Lead and participate in architecture discussions for development of new game systems
• Identify and articulate technical challenges and risks along with proposed solutions
• Innovate and iterate on process, systems, and technology to deliver world-class social next-generation mobile games
• Establish and champion best practices of software development and perform peer code reviews to ensure adherence to design patterns and coding standards
• Ensure code meets performance, scalability, measurability and reliability standards
• Build on the studio culture of inclusivity and growth through mentorship and knowledge sharing of subject matter expertise across the engineering team

The Essentials
• Extensive professional software engineering experience, both as an individual contributor and in a lead architect or technical leadership role
• In depth knowledge of mobile software development, modern 3D engines (Unity3D preferred), and expertise in C# and other programming languages
• Be a self-motivated team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Experience with operating games as a service (GAAS), full-stack game development, RESTful APIs and microservices or a willingness to learn.
