Senior People Partner, Japan (WBJ, TJ)

Primary Purpose of Position:

In a true generalist Human Resources role, the People Partner will be responsible for providing timely and mainly support to several BUs under the WarnerMedia Japan Group (WBJ, TJ) and from time-to-time other Lines of Business. The People Partner will support the execution of HR programs, handle employee inquiries, and takes on general to Employee Relations, performance management, coaching, development, compensation, internal mobility, staff retention, etc.

The People Partner will work closely with other People partners in local and your talent leaders, people solutions, COEs, as well as people in other support functions such as legal, Finance, etc.

Position Responsibilities:
• Act as the initial HR point of contact for WMJ (WBJ, TJ *includes CNNIC) employee and manager requests. Respond to all enquires and requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Works closely with the People Partner Leads and Talent Leaders to execute and implement HR-related initiatives such as organization design & integration, talent management, compensation planning, employee development, succession planning, and performance management
• Creates and activates the BU implementation strategy for core HR/Talent programs.
• Participating in the development of competitive compensation offers (with TA, Comp team).
• Develops strong working relationships with stakeholders including Talent Partners Lead, Workforce Administration, HR COE partners, and Business Manager(s) in client side, in Japan as well as APAC, UK, US, etc.
• Work to resolve employee and organizational issues in a proactive and positive manner. Provide advice, coaching, and training to management on leadership and employee development issues with creative and strategic HR value-added recommendations in support of clients' requests.
• Respond to tier one grievances or concerns. In partnership with the People Partner Lead, advise, guide and support line managers in performance management, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
• Interpret and help to implement HR policies, practices and procedures for managers, teams and individual employees that further the mission, values and strategic vision of WarnerMedia.
• Support the execution of HR-related initiatives such as, DI&E, talent management, employee development, performance management, and various other programs. Work with internal COE's as required.
• Where required, always partners with Employee Relations, Labour Relations and Employment Legal to deliver HR solutions on people related issues.
• Develop and maintain successful business partner relationships with key stakeholders across allocated country (including People Partners Lead, Employee Connections, COE partners, and Business Manager(s)).
• Ensure a good understanding of the financial drivers of your business and competitive market activity in order to ensure HR is well placed to provide commercial advice and respond to current and future business and market challenges.

• Manages special projects (Ad-hoc), as assigned to ensure value add.

Work Experience:
• Ideally 5+ years' experience in a similar HR role
• Experience in supporting Tech businesses, or Entertainment businesses strongly preferred.
• Experience to work for multinational company and complex global matrix organization preferred.
• A Bachelor's Degree within a related field, preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:
• High level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Native-level Japanese proficiency, business-level English proficiency required.
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with internal and external parties to drive results.
• Hands-on, Proactive, responsible, accountable and results oriented.
• Strong decision making and problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and project management skills.
• Ability to work across multiple business areas/countries and multi-task whilst managing tight deadlines under pressure.
• A strong team player who contributes to an environment that embraces constant change and innovation.
• Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• High ethical standards with demonstrated experience handling highly sensitive information.
• System knowledge/experience; Workday (HR-Management system) is PLUS
