PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
• Responsible for managing the technical media operational functions for the operations team. Manage supply chain activities across ingest, quality control (QC), technical edits, transcode and delivery to broadcast, VOD and OTT platforms.
• Accountable for managing linear, VOD and OTT media supply workflows. Key accountability for quality assurance of WM Asia original production.
• Champion and drive systems and workflow changes across the supply chain as we prepare our global operation for the rollout of HBO Max.
• Manage the entire Ingest, QC and Edit team in India for WM.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Media Operations 25%
• Accountable for technical media operations workflows such as ingest, QC, standards conversion, technical edits, segmentation, transcode operations, delivery to broadcast, VOD and OTT platforms.
• Liaise with content teams to understand pipeline of incoming content materials. Own all technical checks and standards conversion of broadcast masters on ingest to MAM systems.
• Own and maintain appropriate content tracking tools to ensure materials are processed in a consistent and timely manner.
• Own and maintain existing incoming file format specifications documentation, collaborating with wider international operations and engineering teams to align these where appropriate.
• Collaborate with Engineering teams to actively manage media storage and archive requirements as appropriate.
• Liaise with wider WM international offices where required for ingest, QC and media delivery activities.

Client Servicing & VOD Delivery 15%
• Be the accountable point of contact between affiliate content sales teams and Operations, ensuring material delivery requests are fulfilled on time and to client specifications.
• Liaise closely with Programming, Sales and Content Operations teams to understand client technical delivery specifications.
• Ensure that the appropriate workflows, transcode profiles and delivery systems are appropriately established and tested to deliver as per client requirements.
• Recommend use of appropriate third-party service providers where appropriate, owning ongoing operating model with third parties for any media preparation activities.

Volume & Resource Planning 15%
• Liaise closely with Operations management and Content teams to understand upcoming pipeline of incoming materials.
• Map incoming content volume and technical delivery requirements against existing resourcing to set appropriate delivery expectations with stakeholders.
• Recommend use of appropriate third-party service providers where appropriate, owning ongoing operating model with third parties for any media preparation activities.

Media Supply Chain Projects- 15%
• Actively lead Media Operations involvement in projects across the media supply chain such as MAM integrations, UAT activities for new workflows, set up of content onboarding workflows to HBO Max etc.
• Champion change within the team, ensuring operational requirements are appropriately captured, tested and signed off as part of project implementation.
• Provide adequate feedback mechanisms to ensure team requirements are captured as needed

Team Management - 15%
• Manage the TQC team to ensure appropriate allocation of daily tasks as well as wider people management responsibilities (holiday approval, annual goal setting etc) .
• Identify and support development of key talent within the team as appropriate.

Support Acquisitions & Original Production - 5%
• Liaise with Acquisitions & Original Production colleagues to sign off on incoming file format specifications, QC of test files.
• Own and maintain existing incoming file format specifications documentation, collaborating with wider international operations and engineering teams to align these where appropriate.
• Liaise with other WM international offices for delivery of WM Asia original productions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS
• At least 7 to 8 years leading a technical media operations function at a leading broadcast/ production company
• Expert knowledge in multi-media file formats and broadcasting standards
• Strong knowledge of media supply chain technologies and applications across QC, MAM, transcode, delivery, archive
• Excellent operational planning skills
• Strong communication skills
• Existing relationships with APAC media service providers such as content, playout, localisation studios
• Strong leadership and people management skills Desirable
• Existing knowledge of WM original content and brands
• Experience working within traffic and channel management systems
• Strong interest in emerging media technologies and trends
