The Job
We are looking for a Senior Edit Assistant to join our highly creative, vibrant and inclusive team in Brighton. This exciting opportunity will see the successful applicant join our in-house Post-Production team at Ricochet's internal post-production facility. Reporting into the Post Production Operations Supervisor, you will take a lead role within the Edit Assistant team, leading by example ensuring that all post-production tasks run smoothly.
The Daily
• Work closely with the Post Production Operations Supervisor, to ensure the smooth running of the Edit Assistant team & MCR department, maintaining a general overview of Edit Assistant shift patterns and assisting in arranging cover when required.
• Provide excellent client service at all times, both face to face and in written communication.
• Assist Editors with any requests, queries and technical issues they may encounter.
• Ensure all technical issues are communicated amongst the Edit Assistant team and escalated where necessary.
• Help to develop workflows & create support documents for new technologies and processes, including AS-11 & AQC, ensuring all Edit Assistants are trained and advised on best practices.
The Essentials
• Detailed knowledge of post-production workflows, including tape and file-based standards conversions.
• Working knowledge of ingest, digitising and conforming as well as QCing and archiving onto LTO.
• Excellent knowledge of Avid Media Composer in a shared storage environment (preferably Avid NEXIS).
• Understanding of Avid offline editing, specifically with bin management, multi-cam and project organization.
• Have an excellent understanding of final post-production processes, including conform, online, grading & audio.
• Proven experience performing full QC for UK broadcast specs, including AS-11 file creation/delivery.
• Have a strong knowledge of different tape and file-based workflows/formats/frame rates/codecs.
• Ability to export cuts for review and create AAF files and MXF files.
The Nice to Haves
• Previous experience as a Senior Edit Producer in a busy post-production facility.
• Delivery of completed shows to broadcasters.
This role will be based primarily in the Brighton office, with the opportunity for remote working when possible.
