Job Description

The Job
Monolith Productions is seeking talented game artists to join us and be a part in crafting our largest and most stunning game to date. This is a role that will enjoy crafting breathtaking landscapes and eye-catching rock formations to create a beautiful, natural world.

The Daily
• Concept and reference analysis/breakdowns, asset planning, and collaboration
• Terrain sculpting, landmass management, rock sets and formations
• 3d asset creation from rough blockouts to final polished assets
• Assisting with placements, layouts, and natural areas of interest
• Ownership and maintenance of related geological assets

The Essentials
• Expertise in planning, constructing, and texturing 3d assets and 3d workflows
• Expertise with 3ds Max or Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Gaea or World Machine
• Experience working with heightfield terrains and editor-based toolsets in an open world
• Strong organization skills with adherence to file structures, naming conventions, and other established protocols including other contributor's related content
• Responsible for the world's terrain visuals while communicating and collaborating with Art Direction, Graphics Engineers, World Construction Team, Tech Artists, and Leads
• A love of landscapes, natural forms, varieties of geology, and how these elements come together to create memorable and impactful scenery

The Nice to Haves
• Experience with Substance Designer
• Experience with proprietary engines
• Experience sketching and studying landscapes
• Experience with photogrammetry
