The Job
Monolith Productions, developers of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War, are seeking talented game developers to join us in creating our next big gaming innovation. This role will enjoy crafting high quality materials for use across our open worlds including varied natural landscapes and biomes, incredible structures and props.

The Daily
• Concept and Reference Analysis/Breakdowns, Asset Planning, Collaboration
• Material and Texture asset creation (terrains, architectural, and unique surfaces)
• Example application of materials and providing tests for reference
• Ownership and maintenance of Material Library and Support

The Essentials
• Expertise in crafting and iterating on a range of tileable PBR compliant materials
• Experience with Substance Designer and Painter, Zbrush, 3ds Max or Maya, Photoshop
• Strong organization skills with adherence to file structures, naming conventions, and other established protocols including other contributors' content
• Responsible for the world's material visuals while communicating and collaborating with Art Direction, Graphics Engineers, World Team, and Leads
• Pure love of crafting diverse sets of materials and their surface interactions with light

The Nice to Haves
• Experience with photogrammetry
• Experience with open world games
• Experience with proprietary engines
• Experience with shaders and lighting
