Primary Purpose of Position
The Production HR team is newly formed and dedicated to providing hands-on HR support to cast and crew working on productions across WarnerMedia content businesses. The People Partners on the Production HR team will work primarily in production environments directly supporting the people that make our content. The goal is to be a recognizable and trusted HR partner to all personnel working on a WarnerMedia production. As a trusted HR partner to production, the main objective is to ensure and support a respectful, inclusive, safe and positive work environment, allowing people to thrive and do their best work. The Production People Partner, Nordics will support all locally produced WarnerMedia productions within region.
The Production People Partner will act as a trusted business partner to the local production teams of Warner Bros International TV Production (WBITVP) UK, executing effective HR programs and serving as the point of contact for employees (in coordination/partnership with HR Services) and production teams including but is not limited to, performance management, conflict management, coaching, development, employee relations, compensation, internal mobility, staff retention, talent acquisition, workforce planning, headcount and position management, talent and team development and compliance.
The Daily – Warner Media Productions
• Initial HR point of contact for production cast and crew in the UK; serves as on-set/on-site HR presence for productions, both locally and on distant location.
• Responds to production-related inquiries regarding crew/cast concerns.
• Provides advice, coaching, counselling, and training to proactively create/maintain an inclusive, respectful and safe work environment.
• Develops, delivers and facilitates training for productions on topics related to a respectful and harassment-free work environment.
• Embodies our culture through behaviour and interactions, and champions inclusion and diversity on the set.
• Conducts surveys to gauge cultural climate and makes recommendations for appropriate action based on findings.
• Supports the People & Culture Lead, WBITVP and Senior People Partner, Productions in policy and process development across the UK ensuring consistency of approach across all productions in-territory
• Partners with Employee Relations, Labor Relations and Employment Legal to deliver HR solutions on people related issues.
• Partners with Safety and COVID Compliance Officers to support COVID policies and protocols, including tracking and tracing.
• Keeps abreast of HR trends/practices, legislation and requirements to effectively manage and communicate to production workers across the region
• Travels to productions on location when needed; last minute travel may be required.
• Creates presentation decks, charts, graphs, and various materials, as needed.
• Manages special projects, as assigned.
• Fosters good working relationships with the necessary unions as matters arise
ITVP
• Provide day-to-day generalist HR support to all business areas for WBITVP UK a population of both corporate and production freelancers. All WBITVP productions to be supported as outlined above
• Support the execution of local / regional / global HR programmes and projects as directed by the Senior People Partner
• Work together with the WBITVP People Partner team to support business needs, short-term HR goals and the longer-term people strategy.
• Manages employee relations issues, escalating to Senior People Partner, Productions in a timely fashion and as appropriate. Provide daily advice to the business in relation to the interpretation of contracts, industry and broadcaster agreements, and general law, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance, always partnering with the Employment Legal and People Relations teams as needed/required.
• Monitor contractor workforce, to ensure compliance with local legislation and practices and escalate to the Senior People Partner as necessary. This includes closely monitoring all new hires, extensions and terminations and the oversight of permanent seasonal contracts
• Support the Senior People Partner and Finance Business Partners on annual budgeting, forecasting, and tracking of all ongoing people costs. Provide support on the annual pay review ensuring fair, consistent and appropriate rewards in line with budgets.
• In collaboration with the WMI Reward team, provide advice and support to managers on employee compensation matters (including benchmarking), remaining up to date with local market trends and practices.
• Oversee and conduct exit interviews. Work closely with the People Partner Coordinator to prepare quarterly employee turnover analysis highlighting reasons for leaving, trends in turnover and ensuring appropriate and timely feedback is given to the appropriate company and line managers.
• Track the visa / certificate of sponsorship status of all relevant employees to ensure compliance with immigration law; work closely with the Senior People Partner, Productions and in-house employment legal to apply for work visas for employees when required.
• Take proactive steps to ensure all HR systems, local policies and procedures are updated regularly to take account of new and forthcoming employment legislation.
• Ensure that the necessary approvals, documentation and permits are raised so that all new starters, leavers and changes to terms and conditions are processed correctly through Payroll; maintain all HR databases, including Workday to reflect new hires, leavers and changes; conduct regular checks to ensure accuracy and consistency in data between all HR databases and WBITVP Payroll.
• Encourage teamwork and collaboration in the local offices, looking for ways to increase affiliation to WarnerMedia whilst shedding legacy business affiliations and siloes.
