Department Overview

The payroll team processes payroll for permanent and production employees. It is the interface between employees, internal and external stakeholders.

The Job

Processes monthly payroll of permanent and production staff and prepares necessary reports automatically or upon request. Responds to inquiries from employees, internal ant/or external stakeholders. Stays current on payroll regulations and attends training/seminars regularly.

The Daily
• Works closely with Payroll Manager to process monthly payroll of permanent and production staff.
• Prepares monthly payroll reports for finance department. Prepares audit for Payroll Manager's review.
• Works closed with production teams to gather cost center allocations of production staff.
• Responsible for monthly Payroll filings, i.e. employment certificates, statutory filings, etc.
• Maintains accurate and up to date personnel records in payroll system (Datev/Sage)
• Sets up all new starters in the payroll system (Datev/Sage).
• Deals with queries efficiently and in a timely manner escalating to other members of the payroll team as appropriate.
• Communicates directly with health insurance companies, public offices and authorities.
• Actively participates in updating the payroll handbook for Production Accountants.
• Supports the optimization of payroll processes.
• Actively participates in process improvements and provides ideas/solutions.
• Attends and stays current on payroll regulations and labor law changes.
• Assists with archiving files.

The Essentials

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Full working knowledge of MS Suite (Word, Excel).
• Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external business stakeholders.
• analytical skills to analyze data and convert to concise reports.
• Language skills (English, German).
• Good communication skills – written and verbal.

The Nice To Haves
• Preferred completed commercial training in the area of payroll accounting or a corresponding additional qualification.
• Up to 2 – 5 years Payroll experience.
• Experience in working with Payroll systems (Datev & Sage preferred)
