Manager, HighlightHER Brand Strategy (Programming)
The Job
Bleacher Report is seeking a passionate leader for the role of Manager, Brand Strategy - HighlightHER to oversee original content development, social programming, and sales marketing integrations for HighlightHER, a community that empowers inclusivity and amplifies girls and women across sports and culture.
This person should be an expert in understanding women's sports and the athletes who define the space and creating innovative and inclusive storytelling experiences across mediums including digital, social, live streams, and television. They will act as a key voice and lead in expanding women's sports content programming, series, and activations within the organization. Yes, they should know the stars and legendary matchups, but also the athletes, teams, and spaces that may have been underrepresented in coverage that we can shine a light on using our platforms. An ideal candidate would be described as a creative and strategic thinker who is constantly coming up with new ways to engage and grow audiences.
The Manager will work cross-functionally, collaborating with the programming, content, design, sales marketing and leadership group on key initiatives.
The Daily
• Oversee social content planning and strategy, including franchises and the full programming calendar
• Support the creation and facilitate execution of the overall women's sports content roadmap
• Ensure consistent voice for all HighlightHER content aligned with strategy and brand attributes
• Guide audience growth across platforms, closely reading and understanding key analytics and performance metrics
• Serve as primary liaison between content, programming, and analytics to ensure visibility, transparency, and prioritization on all appropriate content
• Manage and monitor sold social franchises and work closely with sales to develop new monetization opportunities
• Provide consistent communication, updates, and transparency to leadership, external clients, and stakeholders
• Work with leadership on all hiring, talent, and contributors to ensure brand values are supported through content development and execution
• Stakeholder in league and partner discussions directly related to subject matter
• Effectively communicate needs with shared resource groups, from video production to design to programming
The Essentials
• Deep understanding and interest in women's sports, athletes, leagues, and culture landscape
• Extensive programming and/or digital content management experience, ideally in women's sports or brands
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an ability to illustrate and activate ideas and organize the behind-the-scenes planning necessary to execute across cross-functional groups
• Established ability to effectively establish and nurture external partnerships and projects, including with sports leagues and talent
• Ability to manage up and down, working closely with company leadership and across departments
• Experience leading teams working in digital media and social media environments
• Agile, comfortable working in a fast-paced, always changing environment
• Intellectually curious with a desire to always improve, learn, and grow
• Strong grasp of digital and social media landscape
• Values inclusion of diverse viewpoints and experience in consideration of staff, content, and audiences
• In tune with contemporary sports, internet, and youth culture trends
