The Job

This position will drive consultative category management strategy with our retailers. They will be responsible for developing relationships with retailers to develop comprehensive analytics and forecasts that support category plans. This person will be working with multiple retailers to provide opportunities and strategies for promotions and trends that directly impact business performance.

The Daily
• Review analysis and interpret/present key consumer metrics including but not limited to awareness, buyer penetration, buyer conversion and trip frequency
• Responsible for developing relationships with retailers to develop comprehensive analytics and forecasts that support category plans.
• Manage usage of WHV consumer database to isolate key retailer's opportunities based on geo-demographic consumer profiles for each retailer
• Evaluate competitive strategies, promotions, and trends to address business performance issues
• Review data to assess trends in pricing, format and genre and develop plans to address issues and capitalize on opportunities
• Create actionable balanced scorecards to measure and review performance of retailer, category, consumer and supplier
• Implement and manage assortment optimization based on product potential, consumer centricity and volume metrics.

The Essentials
• Minimum 4 years of marketing and or sales experience required, preferably with a company managing multiple product lines
• Prefer 3 years experience, and formal training, in category management and/or trade marketing in a consumer packaged goods company
• Training in sales, negotiating and discovery skills preferred
• BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required, MBA preferred
• Experience in integrating consumer research, internal and external data into a comprehensive environmental analysis and presenting that to stakeholders
• Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully
• Experience creating and developing proposals and presentations
• Proficient in Excel
• Experience being responsible for category management and managing multiple categories and SKU's
