Manager, Broadcast Planning & Distribution (CW Network)

The Job
The CW Television Network is currently looking for a Manager of Broadcast Planning & Distribution who will be responsible for executing the daily broadcast in conjunction with multiple departments while executing all traffic and marketing activations.

The Daily
• Serves as the back up to the VP, Broadcast Planning & Distribution.
• Independently processes program timings and resolves any/all timing discrepancies with individual show post production staff.
• Manage cross-functional team planning to develop and execute campaigns, including attending meetings, collaborate and consult with Creative, Production, Branded Entertainment and Sales/Traffic teams.
• Solely responsible for the linear and digital promotional inventory for the network based on marketing priorities.
• Spearheads broadcast log activations for a minimum of 4 broadcast logs per week for the network. While also overseeing the execution of the other broadcast logs for the department when needed.
• Discern potential new audience groups to target and align plans to increase network impressions.
• Responsible for distribution of broadcast logs to CBS Program Coordination, CBS Air Control, and entire affiliate body on a very strict schedule using a proprietary traffic system. Responsible for distribution of all promotional logs to our promotion production facility. Maintains high level of communication in order to be aware of/avoid potential problems or delays. Keeps VP abreast of any potential delays in meeting schedule.
• Manages all legal document retention policies, including As Run Reports, Irregularity Reports in paper and electronic form.
• Provides communication, research, and post air reporting as needed.
• Assures the Saturday family programming block is accurate, complete, and distributed weekly. This includes addressing any regulatory issues with Broadcast Standards are managed and addressed.
• Plans and orders all special deluxe graphic elements needed in broadcast from the CW Graphics Department as needed on air.
• Backs up VP during live broadcasts. This includes but is not limited to: creating a line of command for the event. Distributing a form of broadcast breakdown of the event, watching the broadcast as it airs in its entirety are also expected duties. Alerting affiliate body to any unforeseen discrepancies to the distributed materials as well as working with CW Air Control on exact local hit times for the other than LIVE time zones.

The Essentials
• Bachelor's degree or above preferred. (film and television backgrounds are a plus)
• Must have PC skills: Microsoft Office, necessary, STBS Traffic System preferred.
• Must have excellent verbal and written skills.
• General knowledge of time, i.e., hours minutes seconds required.
• Must have knowledge of film/video timing increments (frames, acts), necessary
• Must have knowledge of basic math, spelling, grammar, and English usage.
• Must have excellent proofreading skills.
