Live Production Transmission Engineer

Job Description

Purpose of the role:

This position is responsible of design, implement, maintain and support related activities to leverage and standardise new and modern ways to support the Live Production Transmission of content through non traditional transport technology

Major activities:
• Perform procedures and maintenance activities to ensure availability of Transmission infrastructure for 24x7 feeds and Live Events in the international market. Ex: Perform maintenance activities to replace EOL equipment​
• Manage/Implement/Support Compression and Transport platforms across different technologies. Ex: Installation of new compression Platforms for Non Linear flows​
• Prepare/Maintain Standard Operation Procedures for other support Levels. ​Ex: SOP for signal validation and monitoring​
• Provide Level 2 support to operations before and during Live Events. Ex:Validation and setup of resources​.
• Analyse/propose and assess new technologies aimed to improve current infrastructure.
• Investigation and implementation on virtualizing technologies to leverage infrastructure costs.

Requirements:
• Years of experience: 3 years as Engineer in Multinational Companies
• ​​Fluent in​ ​English and Spanish​
• ​​Broad knowledge and experience in​ ​Cloud Technology distributions (AWS/Azzure/Google/Harmonic VOS) ​
• ​​Experience in​ ​​​Zixi/SRT/RIST Contribution Protocols​​​
• ​​Broad knowledge and experience in​ ​Video compression protocols (MPEG2/AVC/HEVC)​
• ​​Degree or equivalent experience in​ ​Electronic/Telecomunnication Engineering areas​
• ​​General knowledge of​ ​compression and transport protocols for OTT distribution​

Desirable:
• General knowledge of routing protocols (CCNA level)
• ​​Fluent in​ ​Portuguese​
• ​​Experience in​ ​Satellite distribution technologies​
