What We Do

Based on the award-winning HBO series, Game of Thrones: Conquest™ is a free-to-play strategy game that puts players at the head of their own powerful House, with the ultimate goal of claiming the Iron Throne. Build your great house, raise your army, conquer iconic Seats of Power, and rule the Seven Kingdoms.

The Game Engineering teams (in pods of 4-6 engineers) work to improve the player experience, build out new features, investigate tricky technical issues and bugs, and constantly deliver fresh content to players across the world. Your work will reach a vast audience of passionate players.

What Part You'll Play
• Develop, maintain, and improve systems to support our mobile game client (the application is available on Android and iOS). This may include bug fixing, optimization, UI improvements, and building new systems, and may be on your own with team assistance or as part of a bigger team effort.

• Our Alternate Splash Screen system, which lets the studio customize the loading experience according to events that are run in-game
• Our notification overlay system, letting players customize what game information they want to receive
• Our trinket template system, letting players quickly craft better gear
• Own your work when given prioritized goals and objectives.
• Work closely with other team members and take technical and professional feedback.

What You Bring
• Comfort with basic software development including coding, knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis
• Experience programming in C# or another object-oriented language
• Experience with third party game engines – Unity is preferred
• The ability to work in a collaborative environment and effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical team members
• Curiosity, an open mind, and a willingness to learn and take feedback

Bonus skills
• Experience developing for iOS
• Experience developing for Android
• Experience with Git or other revision control systems
• Familiarity with the Game of Thrones television series and/or series of books

What The Interview Process Looks Like
• After your application is submitted, resumes and cover letters will be gathered and read by members of the team.
• A phone interview will be scheduled to learn more about you and your fit.
• A small tech test will be provided to get an idea of how you approach a problem.
• A round of interviews will be scheduled with members of the team to learn more about your experiences and what you'll bring to the team.
• If selected, our recruiter will reach out with an offer and any other details!
