Financial Analyst (1 Year Contract)

Purpose of the Role

This role is responsible for assisting the Accounting Manager across WarnerMedia of all statutory, audit, outsourced accounting, and compliance matters for Korea. The role also requires liaising with business partners to perform responsibilities.

Areas of Responsibilities:
• Assist in statutory reporting Centre of Excellence (COE) across WarnerMedia Korea entities
• Support in managing local statutory/tax requirements and internal audit by various timelines, utilizing a combination of internal and outsourced accounting resources
• Prepare Term Sheets for WarnerMedia Korea, and assist in overseeing cash receipts, recoupments and overages
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP, and assist in handling of GAAP adjustments for local production
• Provide direction on tax invoices, review and manage collection disputes and resolutions with appropriate individuals
• Preparing and reviewing revenue and cost accruals and provide recommendation on bad debt reserves
• Assist Accounting Manager on payment package of all cash disbursements in conjunction with internal and outsourced accounting resources
• Ensure all reporting is accurate and timely, and in line with company policies, best practices and US/local GAAP.
• Assist in balance sheet reporting activity including review of balance sheet reconciliations and prepare quarterly balance sheet footnote disclosures; report issues to Accounting Manager.
• Perform ad hoc analysis for GBS leadership and Finance teams

Areas of Accountability
• SME for Korean statutory reporting and compliance
• Significant interaction with outsourced accounting resources in a matrixed organization

Essentials:
• Strong technical experience including experience of month end management accounting for revenue and cost
• US GAAP reporting and SOX experience
• Experience of multi-site and multi-currency reporting
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting
• Strong written reporting skills and experience
• Fluent in both English and Korean

Desirable:
• Fully Qualified Accountant - CPA
• Experience working through significant periods of change as well as steady state
• Media background
• Experience with direct and indirect tax compliance
• Experience working with outsourced financial functions
