The Job

This role is responsible for the delivery and management of statutory reporting, external audit, outsourced accounting and all other compliance matters for WarnerMedia entities across the EMEA region. The role has one direct report.

The Daily
• Lead, manage and develop 1 accountant
• Manage relationship with outsourced accounting providers to ensure services are being delivered in a timely manner and in accordance with statement of work.
• Management of the statutory audit process, including planning, fieldwork, and finalization.
• Review of draft extended trial balances, tax packs, statutory accounts and all related documentation.
• Lead board meetings for the review and approval of statutory financial statements on an annual basis with descriptive analysis and targeted summary reviews of performance.
• Manage the data inputs and preparation of direct and indirect tax calculations and submissions of any other direct or local tax filings.
• Manage general treasury requirements, including bank account funding, outgoing payment inputs and approvals in banking platforms.
• Manage and implement local legislative changes and developments in order to ensure compliance.
• Ensure all reporting is accurate and timely, and in line with company policies, best practices and US/local GAAP.
• Maintain effective internal control environment ensuring controls are compliant with various territory requirements and WarnerMedia SOX policy.
• Managing intercompany and intracompany transactions in a global matrix organization with numerous global entities.

The Essentials
• Fully qualified Accountant with post qualification experience – ACA, ACCA, CPA/MBA
• Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of latest developments in tax and compliance
• Demonstrable experience of team management of both qualified and part qualified personnel
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Strong written reporting skills and experience
• Fluent in English
• Knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles
• Experience with direct and indirect tax compliance
