The Job
The Engineering Manager serves as the central champion for the studio engineering team, which entails both direct management of departmental engineering leads as well as hiring, mentoring, and advocating for engineers at all levels.

The Daily
• Interact via email, video, and in-person with engineering leads and studio leadership on the initiatives, deliverables, and challenges of the day.
• Lead and mediate intra-engineering discussions to reconcile interpersonal and departmental conflicts while helping resolve competing priorities.
• Promote engineering initiatives, training, and best practices, and work to improve studio visibility of issues and deliverables.
• Foster an empowering team culture where initiative and collaboration is rewarded with the autonomy to take ownership of problem domains and technical vision, not just tasks.
• Manage studio-external vendor relationships and communications.

The Essentials
• Prior experience managing, mentoring, and motivating large teams of engineers (2+ years)
• Prior experience interacting with interdepartmental leadership and external publishers
• Prior experience working in a game development environment
• An outgoing, inspiring demeanor, with a hunger for generating alignment and overcoming technical challenges.

The Nice to Haves
• B.S. in Computer Science or real-world equivalent.
• Prior experience with managing 3rd party communications.
• Prior experience with creating and updating staffing plans.
