The Job
Reporting to the Technical Manager, Post Production Engineering, this role will be responsible for the day to day technical support and ongoing maintenance for two Post-Production facility environments that service WB ITVP UK and it's operating companies: Renegade Pictures, Ricochet TV, Twenty Twenty TV and Wall to Wall TV. You'll help implement 'Post Production Standards' across ITVP EMEA & APAC leveraging enterprise class creative technologies and maximizing efficiencies whilst fulfilling Warner Bros. Discovery security initiatives.
You'll also have the opportunity to research new technologies that will benefit the company, evaluating their benefits and suitability within workflows and arranging demos of new technologies to operational teams.
The Engineer will perform an essential function by supporting and integrating commonly used Production Applications, Services, Workflows & Post Production/VFX Services that support content production, storytelling, franchise and brand efforts.
The Daily
• Day to day technical support of all production hardware, software and infrastructure for WBITVPUK's Post Production facilities across two sites, including management of escalation to vendors, manufacturers and third part support partners.
• Carry out ongoing maintenance of all production servers, workstations and infrastructure across the Post Production facilities.
• Help design and build workflows and best practices from media acquisition through to ingest, edit and archive.
• Work with PICTs team to design, build, support and maintain Teradici PCoIP and HP RGS remote editing platforms.
• Help to maintain security compliance across production applications & services for PICTs production services, solutions and integrations
• Work with key support partners to manage support and upgrades of shared storage solutions – Avid Nexis Estate, Infortrend Nearlines, Synology etc.
• Work closely with local and Corporate IT – pre-empting network/firewall requirements in a timely manner and reacting swiftly to escalate network and connectivity related issues
The Essentials
• Proven experience in Post Production / Broadcast Engineering roles.
• In depth knowledge of all technologies making up Post Production and Broadcast environments: Baseband video, File-based workflows and file standards & codecs, Audio and Video signal flows
• Experience of working with software such as NLE, DAW, MAM etc
• Experience of working with high-end workstations, servers, nearline & online Storage, LTO and ODA Archive Systems.
• Knowledge of cloud systems and SaaS
• Practical experience of IP networking and network topologies.
• Experience with remote editing and viewing platforms and tools.

• Avid Specific Qualifications: Avid Media Composer ACSR, Avid Pro Tools ACSR, Avid ISIS ACSR, Avid NEXIS ACSR
• Degree in a technology-based subject
