The Job

The Director Production Technology Services will be responsible for leading our feature and television production engineering team and overseeing various projects related to content creation and production workflow processes. Reporting into Production Technology, this position will be strategically aligned to Warner Media physical & virtual production, post production, visual effects, and studio business operations. Responsibilities include managing a team consisting of a production engineers and application specialists ensuring project updates are well communicated, mapping production plans, workflows, and budgets to tech architecture and best practices, technical architecture design, and ensuring resolution of escalated issues. This role also closely partners with WarnerMedia Production Integration, Network Operations, Advanced Analytics, Content Protection, Tech Legal, Finance, and Sourcing teams to ensure services are delivered within budget and in a timely, secure, and compliant manner.

The Daily
Oversee entire lifecycle of feature and television production tech projects. Initiatives include implementation of secure and scalable media production workflows (automating routine tasks wherever feasible), planning & deployment of new technologies supporting virtual production, advancing digital asset workflow/compute/storage solutions into new cloud and hybrid models, development of information and service request portal for production community, and rollout of SSO, MFA and other content security controls related to production systems.

Manage production technology engineering team, providing both functional and technical guidance, reviewing and approving overtime work as appropriate, reviewing new technologies proposed by technology team and business units, making sure security policies & best practices are followed, and ensuring team is operating in a highly efficient and balanced manner. Collaborate with production crew, production & technical vendors, WB Technology, WB production BUs, and Warner Media information security and content protection groups to expedite compliant technical solutions.

Manage budget and forecasts for production technology projects

Participate in research & development of new technologies, workflows & processes in order to enhance the creative options available to filmmakers, reduce overall production costs, and increase operational agility while reducing complexity.

Create and maintain executive presentations, status reports, and dashboards for production technology initiatives

Serve as a point of escalation in support of complex production technology issues raised by production technology team, business clients, and partners.

Perform other duties as assigned.

The Essentials

Minimum of 5 years in Production IT or Information Systems working directly with filmmakers/TV crew, studio production executives, production, and technology vendors

7+ years architecting and delivering complex technology solutions

5+ years experience pitching technology solutions to studio executives & filmmakers to secure approval and funding

Experience working in internal or external business, management or technology consulting on Feature Films and TV Productions

Bachelor's Degree required

The Nice to Haves

Degree concentration related to Information Systems, Digital Innovation, Computer Science, or Technology Engineering disciplines preferred.

AWS Solutions Architect and Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect certification desired.
