The Job

The Director, Marketing Sciences is a leadership position within the central Studio Data, Sciences, and Analytics team at Warner Media. This team is transforming how Studios & Networks leverages Marketing Tech, Analytics and Data Science to create content and engage with fans globally. The Marketing Data Science team is one of the pillars of the group that applies data science methods and models to film marketing applications across the release lifecycle in Theaters, Home Entertainment, and SVOD. This is an opportunity to work with some of the most storied brands in entertainment including DC comics, Harry Potter, Looney Toons, Adult Swim & many more.

This position will lead a team of data scientists who perform Media Mix Modeling, Marketing Attribution Experiments, Customer Modeling, and Audience Analytics. Your team will build and maintain data products that empower marketing managers and executives to utilize cutting edge data techniques in planning, execution, tracking and evaluation of marketing activities. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in data science with exposure to strategic, data driven marketing practices and measurement.

The Daily
• Manage and mentor a team of data scientists
• Analyze and model marketing and customer data
• Work with marketing teams to develop test design frameworks and produce analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and drive marketing strategy
• Build out and prioritize project roadmap
• Identify areas of opportunity for new analyses and to conduct tests to improve business at WB
• Prepare and present results of analyses to senior leadership
• Best practice sharing and thought leadership

The Essentials
• 10-12+ years of experience in data science and/or analytics role
• 5+ years of experience managing and mentoring data scientists and / or data analysts to build, validate, and deploy data science models and statistical analysis
• 5+ years of experience with econometric techniques for test design, marketing attribution, predictive modeling
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL
• 5+ years of experience with conducting analysis in R or Python or similar analytical languages
• Experience in developing and executing long term analytical roadmaps that build analytical capabilities and guide their adoption among stakeholders
• Expertise in applied data science models and methods including visualization, KNN, clustering, tree-based models, GBMs, optimization, and data-process automation
• Expertise in statistical analysis approaches such as time series, regression, structural equation modeling, forecasting, causal measurement
• Able to develop testing plans and frameworks for evaluating campaigns to generate a body of learning that can be applied across a portfolio of products
• Experience in managing large numbers of stakeholders on complex projects with varying timelines and multiple deliverables
• Expertise in synthesizing results of complex topics to share with non-technical audiences
• Demonstrable knowledge working with large user level datasets
• Expertise in combining multiple datasets together to generate strategic insights that drive campaign and targeting strategies
• Strong history of identifying opportunities for conducting analyses to meet business needs and drive the business forward
• Love of TV, Movies, Games, and Comics is a Plus!
