Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. seeks a Director, Global Market Research for the Global Insights and Analytics department.

This position reports to the VP of Market Research and will work on current titles on our yearly motion pictures slate including such titles as The Suicide Squad and Dune, and future titles which include The Batman, the next installment of Fantastic Beasts, Elvis, The Flash, Wonka and others.

This position reports to VP, who acts as the lead project communicator on the titles assigned, it is imperative for this position to maintain a constant line of contact with the VP to be aligned on business objectives, with work delegated accordingly. The research work done by this team usually commences once an early cut of the film is available to be put in front of an audience for feedback, and concludes through its opening weeks in the marketplace where measurements of who attended and how they felt about the movie are gauged.

The Daily
• Conducts in-depth analysis that will be a key facet of information for presentations to senior executives at the corporate, production, marketing, and distribution levels, as well as filmmakers.
• Presents to key stakeholders for titles, where assigned.
• Works with research companies engaged in qualitative and quantitative research, and acts as the voice in the setting of audience specifications on studies which go to field, provides oversight with the contracted vendors on study logistics such as questionnaire design and development, and collaborates with them on proper norms to include to contextualize incoming research results.
• Performs analysis that goes beyond the surface level results from vendors, unearthing fresh findings from vast amounts of data that goes beyond just interesting and becomes insightful, and synthesizes results across modalities that might be at odds (quant vs qual, in person vs online, etc.).
• The compilation of research work done will need to be maintained and updated continually by this position, in part, for purposes of building strategy documents and presentations where the distillation of research findings (e.g. target audience(s), key opportunities, challenges, etc.) are broached to the aforementioned stakeholders.
• This position will also confer and collaborate with other business units who may have areas inside or extending beyond the title's lifecycle where there is cross-divisional relevance (ex., Batman has consumer products, TV, Home Entertainment touchpoints given its longstanding history at the studio). There may be macro-related work as a member of the Global Research Insights and Analytics Team (e.g. US and International Brand Equity Studies) where the director may be asked to play a contributing role.
• The position has strong grasp of the ''big picture'' to take motion picture learnings and apply or integrate them with those of other business units. The position not only works with the SVP, but also has lines to the immediate research team that is led by an EVP with touchpoints to the entire film slate.
• Provides guidance and assists with oversight for Senior Data Analyst and Research Associate.

The Essentials
• 5+ years related research experience preferred.
• Experience in film, TV, streaming, gaming, digital entertainment a plus.
• BA Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, Business Administration or closely related field preferred. or equivalent work experience required.
• The ability to juggle and manage multiple projects under tight project deadlines as the workload is significant. Excellent project and time management skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have the ability to work with data and properly prepare written analysis for presentation.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Experience in the interpretation & analysis of quantitative and qualitative research projects and their respective applications.
• Experience working in a highly dynamic environment managing multiple fast turnaround projects at one time.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work cohesively with other internal departments, external divisions, and internal corporate companies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Adobe Acrobat
• Proficient with software for running statistical analysis (e.g. SPSS), survey platforms (e.g. SurveyMonkey), and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) a plus.
• May occasionally have to work outside of business hours to meet deadlines, provide timely deliverables and participate in test screenings on evenings/weekends.
