ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Lead a team in the execution of general accounting activities for Digital Video including general ledger management, account reconciliation review, financial statement review and reporting submissions. Responsible for ensuring timeliness and accuracy of overall monthly close activities including integrity and completeness of the general ledger and compliance with US GAAP accounting.

Act as primary liaison for Digital Video accounting in connection with the Digital Video sales and distribution business and various WBD Corporate departments (e.g., Consolidated Financial Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Participations). Actively involved in assessing and implementing accounting policies relating to accounting treatment guidance (e.g., Revenue Recognition) in accordance with US GAAP.

Assist VP in development of global financial policies as well as identification and resolution of relevant accounting issues. Determine appropriate accounting methodology in accordance with relevant accounting literature and business processes. Provide recommendations to implement accounting principles appropriate to both the mature and emerging lines of business in accordance with US GAAP.

Manage Contract review of financial terms as related to licensing, promotional and new initiative deals. Edit and propose language for financial, audit and tax provisions.

Build risk assessment, slate, and socialize with Executive management for all Home Entertainment and Games 3rd Party Audits. Negotiate audit fees, contracts and SOWs and work in partnership with Sales, Business Development and Finance to close and settle all audits.

Craft, document and execute accounting set-up, policies and procedures for emerging lines of business and new initiatives including Code Sales, Movies Anywhere and Immersive Entertainment.

Develop staff into future WBD financial leaders with business and accounting knowledge, and a customer service mindset. Drive key process improvement and standardization projects. Work with VP to set priorities for the department and be able to help in all problem resolution matters. Strive to make our SDC partner successful and create professional development opportunities for staff.

Continuously look to improve operating effectiveness and efficiency within Studios Controllership and SDC activities and seek opportunities to eliminate nonvalue-added work. Responsible for developing and identifying best practices and ensuring they are shared across groups within the Studios Controllership, the SDC and the retained finance organizations, where relevant. Embrace standardization to reduce and eliminate variability in processes and work with other team members to solve challenging issues.

Ensure appropriate accounting recognition and SOX controls have been followed, and update procedures as needed.

Performs special projects as required.

JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Work Experience

Minimum 10 years' experience in public or private accounting required.

Excellent managerial skills

Entertainment industry experience a plus, preferably knowledge in Digital Video or Physical Video

Must have thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including familiarity with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related field required.

CPA required / MBA preferred

Knowledge/Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills as this is a high-visibility role that interacts with various departments and executives across the organization

Proficiency in a variety of systems: High level Excel experience preferred (macros, pivot tables, lookup functions); Microsoft Word; SAP & BW experience.

Strong to advanced knowledge and understanding of ASC 926 Entertainment-Films, ASC 985 Software, and ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers

Must have the ability to design, review and revise various types of financial information: reports, schedules, journal entries, etc.
