Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: Supports DTVD with all business and legal affairs needs as required. Represents DTVD in business and legal affairs matters with all other Warner Bros. business units as needed; as well as other WarnerMedia entities and third parties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Negotiate and draft License Agreements by negotiating terms and conditions with counterparts at television networks and local stations, basic and pay cable networks, SVOD platforms and AVOD platforms.

2. Review first-run agreements and acquisitions in light of distribution requirements.

3. Ensure compliance with License Agreements and advise senior management on contractual and other issues.

4. Analyze new formats and methods of distribution and exploitation of television rights. Provide information to management and assist in determining best course of action. Analyze feasibility of equity participation in existing or emerging television outlets and coordinate with other business units to properly secure such participation in the best manner for Warner Bros.

6. Communicate and coordinate internally to ensure that the division functions within and adheres to corporate policy with respect to exploitation of Warner product by means of established and emerging technologies and distribution methods.

7. Communicate new licenses, acquisitions, revised terms or other pertinent information with all appropriate members of WBDTD and other Warner Bros. divisions.

8. Fulfill miscellaneous requests from within the division or company or from clients. Includes tasks such as providing appropriate documentation to fill auditing requests, clearance of certain elements of client marketing campaigns (i.e., copyright and trademark requirements, clearance of talent for on-air promotion, clearance for sweepstakes and product giveaways), and the review and response to the litigation department with respect to lawsuits on behalf of the division.

9. Performs other projects & responsibilities as assigned.

JOB RELATED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education
• BA/BS degree in related field required.
• Juris Doctorate required

Knowledge/Skills
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook required.
• Strong negotiation skills required.
• Strong communication skills both written and oral required.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills and attention to detail required.
• Drafting of contracts required.
• Thorough understanding of cable television market required.
• Business and financial analysis, planning & forecasting skills required.

Work Experience
• Minimum 2 years experience practice as a lawyer is required
• Minimum 2 years legal writing experience is required
• Entertainment experience, particularly in television licensing strongly preferred

Licenses or Certificates
• Juris Doctorate
