The Associate Production Manager is part of Image+Sound's Production Services unit. Production Services provides 24/7 production and editorial expertise to support CNN's storytelling.

The Job

As a member of Production Services, you will contribute to creating a great work environment where you can grow in your career and be part of a high performing team that delivers quality journalism for CNN worldwide. The Associate Production Manager is responsible for scheduling all of Atlanta's Image+Sound teams within Creative Services and Production Services, comprised of 200+ personnel, working around the clock in a dynamic news environment.

The Daily
• Making decisions for the day-to-day assignments for Creative Services and Production Services staff.
• Approving, coordinating, and tracking time away for the staff.
• Collaborating with management and partners to make effective scheduling decisions.
• Collaborating with management to make specific task assignments based on skills and project needs.
• Assisting in reporting details for resource allocations and acting as a subject matter expert for the current scheduling tool.

The Essentials
• Bachelor's degree (typically in liberal arts such as journalism, English, political science) or similar demonstrated on the job experience.
• Three (3) plus years of experience in news or video production.
• Previous experience scheduling personnel and or working with scheduling tools such as Newsdesk, WorkSchedule, Show Manager, excel or other industry tools.
• Proven creative problem-solving skills. Ability to create win-win situations.
• Ability to work under deadline pressure.
• A strong curiosity for current and historic events.
• A motivation to grow and adapt to a rapidly changing business.
• Willingness to be on-call during assigned weekdays and weekends.
• Command of the English language. Other language skills are highly valued, especially Spanish.
• Agility in work environment. Associate Production Managers may at times work on-site in an open workspace environment, or remotely via a company provided laptop.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a hybrid world via applications like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Outlook and Zoom.
