Your New Role…

WB Games San Diego is seeking an Art Director to lead the art team and work closely with the Creative Director to help guide the visual development of a cross-platform next generation free-to-play game! Acting as a guiding force for game creation and visualization, the Art Director must possess a robust knowledge of all aspects of game art & design by possessing exceptional leadership capabilities. These should include: communication, interpersonal skills, strategic visioning, tactical planning and execution oversight. The Art Director must be able to motivate and persuade people at all levels within the organization.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Direct the creation of all 2D and 3D art assets
• Work closely with Creative Director and Art Leads to establish style guides, pipelines, and processes
• Work with Art, Production, and Design Team Leads to ensure on-time delivery of assets
• Collaborate with creative, design and technical leadership to support and improve the gameplay and technical requirements of the game, offering art-driven solutions to design and performance challenges
• Display strong communication/listening, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Provide feedback and mentorship for art team members
• Actively share knowledge within area of expertise and influence related disciplines
• Help build an extended team of talented and motivated artists
• Build on a culture of inclusivity and growth through mentoring and career management
• Serve as an active participant in team art discussions, critiques and reviews

Qualifications & Experience…
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as an Art Director or Art Manager in game development
• Experience working on current-gen console or PC games (mobile dev experience a plus)
• Relevant 2D and 3D experience – Photoshop, Maya, 3DSMax, ZBrush, Unreal, etc
• Skilled at balancing art quality and performance optimizations
• Respect and understanding of User Experience and User Interface design
• Strong understanding of composition, materials, color, and lighting
• Clear, concise and transparent communicator - both written and verbal
• Be a self-motivated team-player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Proven time management skills with the ability to be self-sufficient and execute quickly
• Experience with Unreal or similar development platform
• A passion for video games
• Must have portfolio link on resume

The Legal Bits…
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $119,000.00 - $221,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
