Position Overview:

Warner Bros. Discovery seeks a Vice President for the CNN Communications team.

Reporting to the EVP and Head of Global Communications and Marketing, this role is essential in building brand trust and growing awareness and excitement for CNN around the world. This executive will oversee a newly formed unit designed to ensure CNN's global and groundbreaking news coverage is seen and cited across platforms around the world. This person will also sit on the communications leadership team, advising on brand strategy, reputation-related priorities, crisis management and how we stay innovative in our thinking.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop newsgathering PR team, a 24-7 team dedicated to promoting the work of correspondents and reporters across CNN Domestic
• Create multi-layered PR plans that include promoting breaking news and scoops, promoting the individuals and promoting the units, all laddering up to CNN's brand story
• Expand audience acquisition across social media platforms, creating best practices and growing audience and engagement with CNN shows and talent
• Oversee, and be accountable for, managing talent development of the team
• Consult on communications group's operational decisions and functions, and advise on earned media opportunities and brand-level features
• Advise and engage in crisis and strategic response, including direct outreach to members of the press
• Manage complex and unexpected communications challenges with professionalism
• Work with EVP/Head of Global Communications on talking points, prepare documents and prep sessions for executives
• Develop and consult on department functions and processes

The Person:
• The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience in corporate communications and have built and managed high-performance teams across a large, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to context and detail that effectively communicate a message
• Extensive experience in issues management and crisis communications
• Must have leadership presence and the ability to advise corporate executives
• Seasoned, strategic, hands-on, consultative, and collaborative approach
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
• Strong presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Compensation:

Warner Bros. Discovery and CNN intend to attract a superior Vice President, PR and is prepared to offer an attractive compensation package including a base salary, plus bonus, and equity.
