Job Description
Your New Role...

The Senior Revenue Accountant will be responsible for supporting ad sales revenue primarily related to sports properties. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Preparing daily, monthly, and quarterly advertising sales revenue accounting activities, in accordance with US GAAP and company policies and practices
• Performing SOX controls and preparing relevant reports and schedules necessary for management and external reporting obligations
• Completing other duties as listed below

This role will work closely with key stakeholders in FP&A and internal and external audit.

Your Role Accountabilities...
• Oversee day-to-day, monthly, and quarter end close activities including preparation of complex journal entries and supporting documentation, account reconciliations, balance sheet flux analysis, SOX control documentation, SEC Reporting deliverables, ad hoc projects/reporting, and other tasks as requested by management, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met on time
• Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to perform review of ad sales revenue processes, in order to foster a continuous improvement environment. Be proactive about learning the business and upstream processes to identify efficiencies and ensure proper accounting. Cultivate strong internal partnerships with accounting, finance, and other business departments.
• Assist internal and external audit in their audit evaluation processes procedures as requested.

Qualifications & Experience...
• 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years in relevant accounting experience (industry or public).
• Well-qualified Senior Accountant candidates:
• Experience leading teams and/or projects as well as reviewing work products of others.
• Advanced analytical and Microsoft Excel skills.
• High level of learning agility – ability to learn new processes quickly and identify key internal controls.
• Self-starter, works with limited direction, and takes full ownership of areas of responsibility.
• Self-motivated and able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment in order to meet deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to articulate key information.
• Initiative and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
• High emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, data analysis, and process innovation.
• Detail-oriented and high energy.
• Unceasing curiosity and the courage to challenge the status quo.
• Other desired experience:
• Experience in the Media industry.
• PeopleSoft Financials, Hyperion, or any ERP systems.
• Technical accounting research and memo writing.
• Experience in financial reporting and accounts receivables
