Sr. Analyst – Local Production
The Job
The Sr. Analyst is responsible for and/or overseeing work prepared by the shared services organization as it relates to: preparing, processing and reviewing Warner Bros. Discovery Local Production (Including Anime) reporting, greenlights, ultimates, actuals, budgets, forecasts and cash commitments across multiple business units and international markets.
The Daily
• Assists Vice President, Local Production Finance in all aspects of local production responsibilities, including preparation of greenlight PLs, for territories that do not have dedicated Local Production finance staff.
• Manages territory ultimate, budget & forecast submissions.
• Works with the Vice President and LP territories in preparation of business plans and creation of financial models.
• Liaise with dedicated CoE LP resources and VP, Local Production Finance to oversee and review month end closing activities (costing, journals, balance sheet reconciliation, cause of change, and quarterly SOX approvals).
• Works with the Vice President in the consolidation of the Original Budget and Long-Range Plan submissions from territories.
• Oversees dedicated CoE LP resources to ensure the consolidation of cash budget submissions for quarterly forecasts and major budget cycles for local productions, anime and international acquisitions
• Reviews quarterly consolidated worldwide management reports and weekly updates of slate profits for Executive Management.
• Liaise with CoE to validate participation statements & payments from Latin America, Taiwan, Thailand.
• Coordinates key local production reporting calendar.
• Liaise with CoE to ensure accurate processing, recording and reporting of payment requests for Local Production investments and participations payments on monthly basis.
• Facilitates resolution of reporting system issues identified by the territories or the local production team and advises territories and management of resolution status.
• Assists VP in managing quarterly development and output deal reporting.
• Liaise with shared services to ensure and maintain file integrity of Excel-based reports (fiscal P&L, consolidated participation liability, BTBU6, Brazil development costs)
• Document established local production reporting processes.
• Participates on cross-functional business unit teams focused on process improvement and data accuracy.
• Other duties and special projects, including research, ad-hoc analyses and Executive Presentations, as may be determined and assigned by management.
• Works with CoE to reviews picture setup for all local production pictures in the Budget system.
The Essentials
• 3-5 years related work experience required
• Foreign or film accounting experience strongly preferred
• BA/BS degree required; financial emphasis preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of SAP, Access is a plus.
• Analytical skills are required
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must have intermediate to advanced level Excel skills
• Must have ability to interface effectively with foreign and home office personnel as necessary.
• Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and able to work independently to meet deadlines within time constraints.
