Monolith Productions, the award-winning AAA studio who brought you F.E.A.R. and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, seeks a Senior Technical Artist. Monolith Productions' Technical Art Team is expanding to include a Senior level Tech Artist specifically focused on our cinematics and in-game camera systems.
A Senior Technical Artist is an individual contributor who is a recognized expert in their field and holds a wealth of knowledge in dealing with the technical issues around content creation for video games. They have a proven track record of resolving complex and broad reaching challenges related to content construction, pipeline management and leading-edge visuals.
This job will require collaboration with our Presentation (Cinematics and Game Camera) team on pipeline issues related to in-game cinematic systems. You will work closely with our senior presentation artists, lighting artists, tech artists, and other content development experts on requirements gathering, iteration on any feature development you tackle.
Your Role Accountabilities...
Production Process:
• Spearheads R&D efforts for tools, content, and new technologies in relationship to art and aesthetics as they relate to our in-game cinematics and game camera systems.
• Participates in setting strategic vision for content and tools.
• Collaborates with engineering to develop cutting edge tools and technologies.
Content Creation:
• Identifies and executes on content creation problems for the project.
• Research future solutions for cutting-edge content technologies.
• Reviews pipelines and content creation process to identify best practices.
• Supports presentation artists in their daily workflow and identifies improvements to workflow and content creation practices.
Qualifications & Experience...
• 5+ years in the video game industry.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Must be familiar with most modern 3D software packages (Maya, 3D Studio Max, Motion Builder, etc.).
• Familiarity with Maya tool creation.
• Experience with camera / scene export and creation.
• Strong understanding of methods of optimizing game art assets for game engines and optimizing pipelines and processes.
• Strong understanding of Python / Mel / scripting languages or similar systems required.
• Strong understanding of modern 3D engines and the technology behind them and the game development process in general a plus.
• Familiarity with character rigs and animation.
• Diligence with individual and team tasks, schedule and adherence to budget limitations a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $65,170.00 - $121,030.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
