Job Description
Warner Bros. Games Boston is a Warner Bros. Games development studio focused on creating free-to-play games for mobile platforms. The studio is utilizing its extensive expertise in creating persistent online worlds that foster powerful social gaming communities to develop its hit mobile game, Game of Thrones: Conquest.

The Job

As an engineer on our mobile team, you'll work remotely from your home, or from our famed Chicago studio. You'll work closely with designers, artists, and other engineers to develop our next ground-breaking UnrealEngine mobile title.

Your domain will span as much of the codebase as your skills and interests dictate, as you design and implement extensions to existing systems, as well as new game systems. You'll be working to support our designers' vision on a team open to your creative input as well.

As a member of our senior engineering group, you'll be helping our team establish and maintain excellent coding standards, style and philosophy. You'll use your industry experience to take ownership of your domain and lead by example, contributing to our team's culture of growth and self-improvement.

The Daily
• Designing, authoring, maintaining and refactoring game systems that meet all design, technical and schedule requirements.
• Working closely with QA and your technical leadership to ensure the stability and accuracy of game systems by identifying, communicating and resolving defects.
• Authoring, reviewing and providing feedback on technical and end-user documentation of game systems.
• Collaborating with technical leadership and other engineers to help establish overall technical design and architecture.
• Collaborating with designers and content creators to brainstorm solutions that satisfy design and content requirements.
• Working closely with the production staff in building and maintaining realistic schedules and identifying dependencies.
• Coordinating with QA and leads to ensure successful roll out of new features to the team and establish testing and maintenance of systems.

The Essentials
• Fluency and experience in the C++ language
• Thorough knowledge and comfort with object-oriented programming concepts
• Basic knowledge of commonly used design patterns.
• Familiarity with version control (Perforce, Git, etc.)
• Experience with UnrealEngine or similar big game engine
• Great communication skills, especially through remote-oriented tools like Slack or Zoom

The Nice to Haves
• Professional experience with UnrealEngine4
• Experience working on mobile games or apps
• Experience integrating a third-party library into a mobile app
