The Strategy & Ops group is responsible for leading strategy across The WBD International business unit to help drive growth and improve operations. The group plays a critical role in three key areas:
Global Operations: Coordinating international activities that support global lines of business, such as windowing decisions across Theatrical, Home Entertainment and Content Licensing, affiliate distribution and programming coordination to support International DTC operations. In particular, the group plays a leading role in coordinating with the US home entertainment team to optimize international operations. Regional Strategy Initiatives: Providing operating and strategic support to the Regional Presidents and Country Managers, focusing on the key operating challenges and growth opportunities that drive the local businesses. Examples include, developing local production strategy, optimizing local network's portfolios, and assessing strategic tradeoffs around licensing decisions Executive Support: Leading on key executive presentations including the quarterly business reviews, annual strategic and long-range planning process, and other key executive presentations.
The New York based Manager will report into the SVP of International Strategy & Ops and play a critical role in supporting, developing and implementing strategies for the WBD International Organization. The position will work with the Directors and SVP on key growth opportunities and operating projects across the WBD International organization. The role will be responsible for leading the analysis of business performance and market trends, managing strategic projects, liaising with partners from across WBD International and the rest of WBD, and providing support to senior leaders across the organization. The role will work across a wide array of projects, including integration planning, supporting streaming market launch strategies, process Improvement, and operating performance evaluation.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Playing a critical role in developing, communicating and implementing the growth strategy and objectives for WBD International and its senior management (including portfolio and business optimisation, future-proofing business plans and analyzing strategic and financial tradeoffs to support decisions making
• Working as part of the broader WBD International team to support the upcoming launch of the new combined streaming product. Primary focus on providing analysis to support programming and distribution strategies.
• Providing critical support on windowing decisions across international markets to drive the execution of our global studio monetization strategy
• Analyzing market trends and providing insights and recommendations on the future growth opportunities in the media industry and leading projects that lead to the implementation and execution of those strategies
• Supporting the International Strategy & Ops team's Directors and SVP and broader WBD leadership team on key strategic projects by providing analysis across key work streams within broader projects including conducting due diligence, building strategic or financial analysis, and developing strategic narratives
• Working in both a supporting and leadership role (depending on projects) with the WBD International leadership on projects to define strategies, prioritize opportunities, improve processes, identify commercial opportunities and play a role as connective tissue / facilitator between WBD International and the global business units within the company (e.g., Streaming and Studios)
• Working with the broader International Strategy & Ops team on global projects to support the WBD International President, Regional Presidents and WBD International CFO to create strategic presentations
Requirements:
• Passionate about the media industry. Awareness of market trends, key industry ventures and technology trends globally
• Strategic, logical and analytical mindset. Intellectually curious, with good commercial acumen
• 3-5 years of experience working in strategy, corporate or business development within the media and entertainment industry or previous experience in management consulting or investment banking
• Strong analytical, research, and communications skills. Experience delivering quantitative and qualitative analyses for investment and strategy projects; and comfort with presenting analysis to senior leaders
• Experience leading and managing strategic projects with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and stakeholders at the same time
• Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Fluent in English
• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent)
