Job Description
This role will support Warner Bros. Discovery Global Franchises, Products, & Experiences with business planning and insights, strategic decision support, deal analysis, financial modeling, revenue and expense forecasting, and preparation of executive presentations.
• Owns the forecast and budget process, ensuring accurate revenue and expense projections as well as identification of risks and opportunities. Prepares executive-level presentations to explain key variances, assumptions, and business trends.
• Ensures integrity of data in financial systems, reports, and presentations. Supports development of new tools and processes to streamline workflows and increase data gathering efficiency as well as data transparency.
• Serves as key business partner to various Global Products & Experiences business leads, providing data and insights to drive decision-making and enhance understanding of the drivers of profitability and revenue growth.
• Reviews cause of change analysis and other deliverables for submission to corporate stakeholders.
• Supports monthly and quarterly close processes, reviewing and recommending accruals and providing regular pacing updates to senior management.
• Manages Senior Financial Analyst, reviewing deliverables, assigning work, and supporting professional development and growth.
• Build relationships with other studio-wide finance teams and bring back insights and best practices to share with broader Global Franchises, Products, & Experiences finance team.
• Participates in divisional and company-wide professional development efforts and supports development of more junior staff across the WBD organization.
Qualifications & Experience…
• 6-12 years in FP&A or other similar strategic finance functions
• Previous experience with media, entertainment, retail, or consumer products industries preferred
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or similar field required
• MBA/CPA preferred
• Ability to drill into assumptions and data to understand, communicate, and resolve complex finance and accounting issues
• Superior communication and presentation skills; must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with persons at all levels
• Ability to coach and develop Senior Financial Analyst resource
• Continuous improvement mindset – commitment to improving and streamlining processes
• High level of intellectual curiosity that sparks communication, collaboration, and innovation; must have a willingness to look beyond surface requirements.
• Ability to adapt and be agile amongst a changing environment and to translate complex problems into solutions
• High degree of emotional intelligence and ability to flourish under pressure
• Detail-oriented, but also able to summarize complex ideas succinctly and develop compelling narratives
• Familiarity with media & entertainment business models as well as drivers of profitability and growth
• Advanced Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint required
