Your New Role

This position exists to prepare and provide accurate, timely and relevant financial reporting and planning support to Sports division. The Manager, Financial Analysis supports the Sports LOB leaders in providing objective accounting and financial analysis by having an understanding of the industry and business strategies, and an in-depth knowledge of the company's accounting and financial processes. The LOB Sports Manager is an active liaison between Sports Finance, Controllership and Consolidated Financial Reporting. This role also works with the NBA accounting team.

Your Role Accountabilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis
• Monthly consolidated financial reporting and analysis
• Assist in the preparation and compilation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages
• Cash flow consolidation and variance analysis (Actual, Forecast and Budget)
• Assist in preparation of monthly Actual Package report
• Responsibility over CFR and SOX compliance-related deliverables
• Participate in Functional, Business Unit and Segment Close meetings (including presentation of BU results)
• Capital cash flow and depreciation forecasting and reporting
• Assist with segment Budget consolidation and presentation activities, as well as CFR deliverables

Management Reporting and Special Projects
• Assist in preparation of Finance and Sports executive scorecards
• Oversight of management requests for data and analysis spanning multiple functional finance and accounting areas
• Special projects and focused analysis relating to process improvement initiatives and reporting efficiency initiatives across Finance and Accounting
• Management of Sports Target process
• Ad hoc Sports-wide reporting and analysis (savings initiatives, headcount, others)
Other Responsibilities
• Work with accounting and finance teams to coordinate and facilitate the NBA audit process
• Collaboration with Finance and Accounting teams to challenge and refine existing processes (especially in areas that impact Line of Business)
• Oversight responsibilities over admin activities such as monthly close calendar, alternate hierarchy maintenance, chartfield action requests
• Cross-training, process documentation and goal-setting

Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum four years accounting and/or finance experience involving forecasting and budgeting with at least two years of experience in a role with demonstrated strong analytical, organization and technical skills.
• Advanced analytical skills supported by proficiency in all MS Office applications and Hyperion Essbase or a similar application.
• Candidates must demonstrate initiative, leadership, strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple deliverables and priorities.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Master's degree or CPA qualification, or actively working towards completing certification
• Advanced analytical skills, and strong technical accounting skills supported by proficiency in all MS Office applications and ESSBASE/Hyperion applications
• Strong written, oral and presentation skills; a confident communicator able to interact effectively at all levels of a matrix organization and with a high degree of professionalism.
• Solid understanding of technical accounting matters and finance processes.
• Extremely organized with ability to effectively manage multiple, time-sensitive projects and competing priorities.
• Good problem resolution skills, strong organizational skills, and marked collaborative approach.
• Results oriented with an ability to set clear goals and priorities and deliver timely, high quality services
• The successful candidate will place a high emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, reporting and data analysis and process innovation.
• PeopleSoft Financials and PeopleSoft Query experience are desired but are not required
• Media, Entertainment, Television or sports industry experience desired, but nor required
