Your New Role…

This position will be responsible for directing and managing all aspects of the Federal IRS audit. In addition, this position will be responsible for the management and review of all federal elections and disclosures, assessing and calculating FIN48 tax reserves, and evaluating and researching tax positions taken on the federal tax return to ensure transactions and technical positions are well documented and audit ready.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Lead US federal tax audits, including managing day to day interactions with the IRS. Includes strategic planning related to the audit, assisting with the development of the audit plan, managing IDR (information document request), preparing IDR responses, engaging in settlement agreements, determining the need for outside advisors, executing the audit and IDR response strategies, and communicating with Management on the status of ongoing federal audits.
• Collaborate with planning and reporting teams to ensure tax positions are correctly presented on the tax return, including the identification, preparation, and review of federal disclosures, elections, and statements.
• Collaborate with planning and reporting teams to assess the technical merits of tax positions and determine the need for FIN48 positions, including the assessment of likely outcomes and tax exposure as they relate to FIN48 positions. Includes documenting tax return positions taken on tax returns.
• Support the compliance, planning, and reporting teams on tax technical analysis, including working with various Company stakeholders to identify issues, developing tax positions, documenting relevant Treasury regulations and case law to support the position, and writing technical memos and notes to the tax return file.

Qualifications & Experience…
• Bachelor's degree required
• Master Degree preferred
• CPA or LLM required
• 10+ years of experience with a law firm, accounting firm, and/or company operating in a complex, global environment
• Experience with federal controversy preferred.
• Experience with tax compliance strongly desired.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of fundamental US and international tax and transfer pricing concepts.
• Experience with audit oversight strongly preferred, including in-depth knowledge of procedural requirements, the ability to negotiate settlement agreements, file protests and appeals, and manage information document request (IDR) responses.
• Strong oral communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present issues and results to upper Management, provide technical presentations on tax issues to the IRS, and effectively advocate for the company's positions.
• Strong writing skills and ability to memorialize technical positions taken.
• Detail oriented with strong organization and management skills in order to effectively manage multiple engagements and projects with competing deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills critical to a team-oriented environment, and to develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders, external advisors, and tax authorities.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $145,250.00 - $269,750.00 salary per year.
