Job Description/Summary:
WALB News 10 in Albany, GA is looking for a Morning Anchor/MMJ to join our award-winning news team. We are looking for a strong, experienced news leader with energy, personality, and the ability to coach and mentor new employees. Candidates must have prior professional experience reporting, producing, writing, shooting, and editing. This person will anchor newscasts and turn content on all platforms daily. Strong social/digital media skills and solid live reporting skills are a must. This is a great opportunity for a journalist looking for a weekday anchoring position, who has a strong work ethic, excellent time management, and advanced ethical decision-making skills.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
-Anchor weekday morning newscasts
-Anchor other newscasts/content on broadcast and digital platforms as assigned
-Pitch, shoot, write, edit, and report local enterprise content daily
-Strong live skills including extended breaking news coverage and the ability to ad-lib and improvise
-Produce morning newscasts as necessary
-Collaborate with producers, reporters, and production staff to make shows as compelling and clean as possible
-Help oversee morning newscast content and report to management with any issues
-Coach and mentor new employees to help build up skills
-Develop community relationships and represent station at community-oriented events
-Interact professionally and effectively with all WALB employees and external organizations
-Maintain high journalistic standards in line with station's brand and goals
-Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications/Requirements:
- College degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field required or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of one year professional anchoring experience or 3 years professional reporting experience with the ability to produce, shoot, write, and edit
- Strong professional social media skills
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
