MMJ/REPORTER (Decatur/Athens Bureau) - WAFF

About WAFF:

WAFF is the dominant station in the Tennessee Valley both on-air and on-line. We cover breaking news and weather all with a heart for the community.

Job Description/Summary:

WAFF needs an enterprising reporter who loves telling stories. We want reporters who want to turn lead stories. Ideal candidate must cultivate sources. This is a position in one of the fastest growing areas in our DMA.

Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:

Shoot, write and edit 2 packages per day. Able to work any shift as needed. Must be able to turn a digital story on daily stories. Engaged with social media. Solid knowledge of legal and ethical issues impacting journalism.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field. Social media proficiency. Excellent time management skills. Strong writing skills (broadcast & print)
