M&A Integration Manager

Job Description

M&A has become a key part of Vox Media's inorganic growth strategy. As a result, we are searching for a versatile and experienced candidate to join our integrations team to contribute to the M&A process and run integration efforts, partnering with business units, functional leads, and technical leads across Vox Media. This person will report to the Chief of Staff and partner closely with leaders in Corporate Development, legal and other functional areas.

What you'll do:
• Overall M&A integration strategy:
• Drive Vox Media's M&A integration function, contributing to the end-to-end deal process
• Develop and drive integration plans to achieve strategic deal objectives
• Serve as a trusted advisor and key resource to core services groups and functional integration leads
• Develop, own, and continually improve the integration best practices with an eye toward repeatability and scalability
• Stay on top of industry innovations and trends around M&A integration processes
• Keep a pulse on cultural issues that shape employee experience, and innovate on solutions and practices that uphold employee experience needs
• Manage cross-functional relationships through transparency, effective communication, and frequent updates
• On a deal-by-deal basis:
• Participate in due diligence process to help shape acquisition objectives, contribute to the operating model assumptions, and identify initial integration milestones/risks
• Develop and drive integration plans to achieve strategic deal objectives
• Develop and manage a comprehensive project plan, that includes all workstreams, to achieve a deal's success metrics
• Spot and creatively solve complex, cross-functional operational issues, often unique to each deal
• Think on your feet and effectively problem solve if/when roadblocks and escalations emerge
• Lead integration planning process with strong decision making ability and clear accountability; ability to delegate to leads distributed across functional areas
• Ongoing, post-deal:
• Monitor program status and rapidly identify issues / risks against initial assumptions.
• Succinctly communicate issues to relevant stakeholders and proactively collaborate to ensure timely resolution

What you'll bring:
• 3+ years of process or product management or equivalent experience
• Business, finance and/or accounting experience
• Willingness to travel frequently
• Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members alike.
• High emotional intelligence; ability to understand the needs of different groups and develop thoughtful plans that balance competing needs
• Understanding of media landscape and how media companies operate / thrive
• Outstanding organizational, analysis, project management, communication, and relationship building skills conducive to driving consensus
• Ability to work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment.
• Ability to drive a highly integrated team of both technical and non-technical members, both of the originating company and the integrating company.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities against ambitious timelines
• Strong organizational, project management, analysis, and communication skills.
• Ability to successfully partner with all functions across the entire company.
• Effective change manager, attention to detail (without getting stuck in the weeds), problem solver, enthusiastic, assertive, and willing to be hands on.
• Demonstrated ability to establish productive working relationships quickly, combined with ability to influence
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity / uncharted territory / uncertainty
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Intermediate understanding of the M&A integration space.
