Our team strikes the perfect balance of content that's smart and funny so that our readers know everything they need to know to navigate urban life and the fast-moving culture, whether that's politics, culture, food, shopping, or style trends.

Intelligencer, New York Magazine's site dedicated to politics, news, business, and tech, is looking for a Financial Reporter who will anchor our daily coverage of the world of money and markets. This person will write a story or two a day and generate a steady stream of ideas for expanding and deepening New York's coverage of money.

What you'll do:
• Write engaging, fun, informative, conversation-starting stories about money, markets, crypto, speculation, and the economy
• Be ready to write about the biggest financial news of the day -- but also to report and write about something that's not a big story yet, but deserves to be
• Bring lots of curiosity and original ideas, and a strong impulse to write about the financial world on a daily basis
• Be ready to go deep on the subjects and people that are particularly interesting at a given moment
• Work with editors to develop and expand Intelligencer's and New York's financial coverage

What you'll bring:
• At least 4-6 years of reporting experience, with the bulk of that in financial journalism, but we're also open to candidates coming straight from the financial industry
• A strong working understanding of the financial world -- including, but not limited to, public markets and cryptocurrencies
• A track record of being able to write about money in an engaging way and build an audience doing so
• A strong desire to help create and build a new channel of coverage
• An understanding of New York's sensibility and how it lends itself to writing about the world of money
