WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Work with your editorial director and the science editor to create and implement a vision for Vox's science coverage, and make sure it meets a high threshold of excellence
• Lead and guide an ambitious team of reporters
• Assign, refine pitches for, and edit stories ranging in complexity from straightforward to highly complex
• Ensure that the team is offering clarity on the most important policies, controversies, or news moments
• Prioritize representing diverse perspectives and experiences in your team and their work
• Work with the audience team, audio, video, and other editors across the Vox newsroom to elevate the work across medium

WHO YOU ARE
• A deep understanding of and interest in climate issues, biodiversity, and science
• A passion for helping a general audience understand the climate crisis and its impact on people's lives
• An ambitious appetite for strong, distinctive work
• A knack for managing writers
• High editorial standards
• Strong time management skills and the ability to effectively balance priorities
• A desire to grow your skills as a leader

This job is remote.
