Benefits & Compensation Assistant

Vox Media is looking for a Benefits & Compensation Assistant to join our growing People & Culture team. As the Total Rewards Coordinator, you will provide support for Benefits, Compensation and payroll functions on the Total Rewards team. Ideal candidates for this position will be highly organized and a self-starter when it comes to process improvement . This position will report to the Benefits Manager and will be based in Washington, DC

What you'll do:
• Own the invoicing and reconciliation process for all benefit and compensation invoices, including:
• Reviewing vendor invoices, resolving disputes, and reporting on fees and costs.
• Primary point of contact for our Accounts Payable team and vendors to resolve any invoicing issues.
• Lead weekly Benefits Orientation on a rotating schedule.
• Assist with manual benefit payroll changes.
• Assist with completion of timely filing of benefits documents.
• Assist the Benefits Specialist with the maintenance of the company intranet sites for the Total Rewards Team.
• Provide system and admin support during the annual Open Enrollment process as well as any Compensation projects that require admin support.
• Complete annual compliance audits and assist the Systems team with reporting (specifically for workers' compensation and EEO reporting).
• Perform quality checks of benefits-related data and research/resolve discrepancies, working closely with the Payroll Department and Benefits Manager.
• Work closely with the Benefits Manager and Benefits Specialist to recommend and implement robust new benefits offerings.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What you'll bring:
• A strong desire to work at Vox Media and alignment with Vox Media's Values.
• At least 1 year of experience with corporate invoicing and payroll experience.
• Strong analytical skills and problem solving.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• A bias for follow-up and making sure that nothing falls through the cracks.
• Demonstrated proficiency in or ability to learn Google products (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.)
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills that ensure concise and accurate delivery of information.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently or with limited oversight, completing assignments by designated deadlines.
• Experience developing and maintaining organized work habits that ensure effective management of workflow and deliverable requirements.
• Appreciation for a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Bonus points for:
• Basic knowledge of payroll processing
• Knowledge of Benefits.
• Knowledge of UltiPro.
