Job Description
We are excited to announce that we currently have a position open for an Onboarding Production Manager, within our Onboarding Department located in Burbank, California.
Candidates must be highly motivated, with superior work ethic and ability to adhere to strict delivery deadlines, with minimal direct supervision.
Position Overview
The Onboarding Department “onboards” new clients and develops new workflows for use in the various Operations Departments. This position is responsible for facilitating day to day work within the Onboarding Department, coordinating and scheduling work, project planning, issue resolution and interacting with Onboarding Team as well as Operations departments, Client Services and external clients to ensure work is being created on-time for testing and release.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the timely completion of all day to day work being performed within the Onboarding Department.
- Assist with daily and after hours scheduling of testing within the QC, QA, Audio, Edit, Digital Services and Data IO departments as necessary
- Ensure Onboarding engineers are on track with daily requirements and time management
- Manage Onboarding tickets within Wrike ticket system and work internally and externally to clear obstacles and roadblocks
- Create test media orders
- Source availability and project planning
- Prioritize and re-schedule work as needed to meet deadlines
- Work closely with departmental leads to identify and mitigate potential risks
- Assist with rolling out Operational updates and workflow procedural updates as needed
- Make sure assets are staged and ready for testing
- Work closely with Operations Management, Department Leads, Coordinators, and Client Services to understand and follow through with daily priorities
- Resolve due date related issues or make phone calls to the appropriate personnel when deadlines are in jeopardy of being missed
- Must have a high degree of accountability and sense of urgency in completing daily tasks as timing is critical to the success of this position
- Auditing of processes to ensure they are providing the benefits that were anticipated
- Maintain an awareness of Visual Data’s culture and ensure that we are working towards the company’s core values and mission statement
- Represent and uphold all Operational processes, policies and procedures and maintain an exceptional level of service for our customers
- Undertake additional department duties as required
Desired Skills and Experience
- 2+ years of post-production or media distribution experience or similar experience as a Project Manager
- Strong multi-tasker with experience in organizing and managing multiple projects and priorities
- Strong ability to work unsupervised, at a fast pace in a calm and collected manner
- Ability to troubleshoot and act as a critical thinker
- Results oriented with strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and both written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Quality Control / Encoding / Transcoding / Restoration / Audio concepts and processes
- Working knowledge with creating content for Digital Distribution Platforms. i.e. - iTunes, Netflix, Amazon, Google, PlayStation, Xbox
- Working knowledge of Audio, 4K, HD and SD Video Signal Flow, Physical and File Based Formats, Aspect Ratios, Frame Rates and Conversion Processes
- Ability to problem solve quickly, make decisions based in limited information and take corrective action as needed
- Familiarity with entire Digital Distribution process, Restoration, Encoding, Transcoding, QC, Metadata/XML creation, Packaging and Delivery
- Familiarity with FCP7, FCPX, DVS Clipster, ProTools, Iris a plus
- Familiarity with Closed Captioning and Subtitling creation and embedding a plus
