Job Description

The Head of Production (HOP) is responsible for leading and managing the people and resources within the production department. The HOP is responsible for all elements of the department including maximizing production output, oversee budgeting, scheduling and production management of all projects.

VICE Jax is a joint venture between VICE and a large Middle East media partner. VICE Jax's primary directive is to create a leading platform for quality digital Arabic content centered on modern Arab youth culture anchored in Saudi Arabia. The expectation of this role and others connected with VICE Jax is that you will work on VICE JAX project as well as other VICE Media lines of business including VICE and Virtue (VICE's creative agency) projects throughout the Middle East and Africa.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the production department.
• So that you have an overview of the status of each production. Initiate and implement communication systems that will ensure this occurs.
• Maintain an overview of how the productions within the department are progressing and flag up any potential problems, such as scheduling, overrunning or overspend.
• Review and approve production cost reports.
• Monitor the progress of production and offer solutions to any production management problems that may arise.
• Oversee the implementation of the company policies on all of the productions
• Consider/encourage/implement new working practices to lower the cost of production.
• Ensure correct procedures for ends of contracts and that appropriate handovers are undertaken when key crew leave the production.
• As the department head, responsible for recruiting and building the production team.
• Manage production leads.
• Sharing regular reports for the work with executives
• Work on career progression plans for team.
• Lead and work with HR on staff salary and performance reviews on a regular basis.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be a fluent in Arabic and English.
• Proven production experience
• Relevant 10+ years of work experience
• Experience in setting up production processes/workflows
• Experience in handling a team of 10+ people
• Experience in working in multiple countries

LOCATION
** Temporary location for this role can be between UAE and KSA but the candidate will eventually be expected to be located in Riyadh where VICE's Arabia HQ will be located.
