As a key contributor on the global People, Culture and Impact team, the Senior Manager, Talent Management will help to create an inclusive culture in which every person can reach their full potential, and that will attract, develop, retain and engage extraordinary talent to fuel our growth. You will report to the VP, Talent Management and be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing learning experiences,, programs and projects to create and sustain an environment of full life-cycle talent management, a healthy and inclusive workplace culture, and employee engagement at VMG. As a Talent Management leader, you will help to architect, translate, lead and iterate scalable solutions, resources and tools for employees, leaders and HR as a way to know our talent and to provide career pathing visibility and opportunities. You will also be responsible for developing our Learning & Development strategy, in collaboration with other key stakeholders, and creating and facilitating engaging content. Managing our Senior Specialist, Learning & Development and Specialist, Talent Management, you will join a high performing team with oversight of the heartbeat of employee experience, productivity and engagement through employee orientations, performance management, talent mapping and planning initiatives, both online and in-person training, employee surveys, overseeing Community Groups and emerging talent programs, and much more to help employees achieve their best at work and strengthen their sense of belonging.

Responsibilities:
• Manage, support, and execute talent management, employee engagement, and Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives for Vice Media Group's global population of diverse and passionate employees.
• Manage, support and execute on-boarding and orientation for new employees and the off-boarding and exit processes for employees that choose to leave us, coordinating with Talent Acquisition and HRIS where appropriate. Support the building of structures, policies and workflows to ensure that onboarding, role transitions and off-boarding are done in a professional manner that enhances the employee experience.
• Manage the implementation and refinement of performance management processes, including development and refinement of the performance management strategy and talent programs – including goal setting, quarterly reviews, competency models, succession planning, talent mapping and calibrations, and objective end of year conversations; working closely with Compensation and HRBPs. Support the greater HR group in driving a pay for performance culture by bringing rigor and objectivity to performance and talent management.
• Support the design, implementation and management of DEI programs across the organization, serving as an advisor to Community Groups and DEI Councils globally, which provide a constructive platform for living the values of the organization.
• Support HRBPs and serve as a coach for managers. Assists in establishing a positive relationship between managers and reports; supporting a high level of employee morale and motivation, conducting periodic surveys to measure employee experience and engagement; ensuring any complaints or concerns are facilitated through the proper approaches
• Manages Emerging Talent and early career programs, eg, intern program, and fellowships in terms of recruiting, orientation, program design, and liaising with managers.
• Manage client expectations appropriately and keep assigned projects and work streams on schedule and within scope, serving as a point of contact for escalations as needed
• Measure and monitor culture and employee sentiment change – use questionnaires, surveys, focus groups, etc. to gather feedback and synthesize information to identify opportunities and make practical recommendations for improvements
• Take ownership of other talent initiatives as assigned from project planning through implementation with an eye on continuous improvement
• Collaborate in needs analysis, thought leadership, and strategy development around the overall talent management and career development offerings at VMG
• Demonstrate our behavioral expectations and ensure that our core values and behavioral expectations are embedded in Talent Management programs
• Work closely with HR Business Partners on talent pipeline-related initiatives, ensuring that they are aligned with the direction of the business
• Collaborate with the VP, Talent Management on the development of our overall Talent Management strategy, including Learning & Development initiatives.
• Able and willing to create and facilitate both in-person and online content for employees' learning and development as needed.
• Directly manage a Talent Management Specialist and Senior Specialist, Learning & Development

Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years of broad HR experience, to include Talent Development and/or Management, DEI, CSR, Leadership Development and Management Training, Performance Management, Learning and Development , and designing/implementing/managing multiple complex projects or learning content globally.
• Excellent consultative and communication skills and proven ability to influence and articulate point of view and data in a clear and compelling manner.
• Proven ability to establish strategy and to translate it into an effective, long-term action plan.
• Previous experience creating and facilitating engaging content for training for both online and in person.
• Experience developing and/or managing online systems to support talent programs
• Change management - ability to communicate and mobilize teams through change
• A sense of urgency and results/service orientation with a high degree of flexibility, adaptability and responsiveness
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to drive large-scale cultural change efforts globally, while partnering with key stakeholders, while also being able to roll up your sleeves and create and manage the programs, content and communications from start to completion.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including leadership, influencing, and relationship-building across functions.
• Ability to navigate and drive solutions within a fast-paced collaborative, team-oriented culture and matrixed organization.
• Ability to maintain a global perspective while being sensitive to local/country level nuance and cultural distinctions and the implications on the public perception of VMG's brand.
• Goal-oriented and comfortable with ambiguity, and able to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
• Previous people management experience is a plus but not required
